The last four executive directors of the New Mexico Brewers Guild have been kind enough to allow the Crew to remain on the email lists for their informative newsletters, which means that from time to time, we are privy to advance knowledge of some cool upcoming events. One that we were surprised to see earlier…

Legislative recap: Brewing industry left pleased with results of this session
There was a big sigh of relief last weekend when the 2023 New Mexico state legislative session came to a close. It was not just from the media covering it, or the legislators and lobbyists who participated in it, but from numerous business groups around the state, including the New Mexico Brewers Guild. I caught…
Roosevelt Brewing Company rises above the competition at 2023 Stout Invitational
In case you missed it, last Saturday, 16 New Mexico breweries met at Bathtub Row Brewing Co-op in (an almost no-holds-barred) three-round battle royale, where only one contender of thicc, chewy darkness emerged victorious from the 2023 Stout Invitational. And boy, was it a great day for a showdown! The sun was out, the air…
New Mexico Brewers Guild and Bathtub Row co-host 2023 Stout Invitational
Last year, the 2022 Stout Invitational made a much-welcomed return to Bathtub Row Brewing after a one-year hiatus due to the pandemic. Like so many return-to-goodness events that began to re-emerge that year, all the major COVID protocols remained in place, but more importantly, the event was filled with laughter, and lots of smiles on…
Legislative update: Sorting through all the bills that could affect the breweries
Unless you purposely avoid the news these days, you are probably aware that there is a 60-day legislative session going on in Santa Fe at present. Palmer Brewery increases production to keep forward momentum going
After leaving the last few Palmer Brewery and Cider House entries to other Crew writers, it was my turn to head over for our Look Back/Look Ahead Series and catch up with one of the good guys in the industry. Owner/brewer Rob Palmer greeted me with a handshake and a pour of his Barrel-Aged Cockness…
WinterBrew returns to original home at the Railyard for its 11th annual edition
We have far too few festivals in Santa Fe, fewer after that recent Marvel-sized blip in history (as far as events go), and fewer still that are specifically designed around the celebration of Independent Craft Beverages. But, WinterBrew (oh, how we love you!), every year, does the trick, hits that spot, fulfills that need to…

With more than 400 votes cast in the final round on Saturday afternoon, a single-round record, the 2022 New Mexico IPA Challenge was bound to feature some surprises at the end at the Santa Fe Brewing taproom inside Tin Can Alley. Of course, to the many loyal followers of Gravity Bound Brewing, was it really…
Dispelling a few myths ahead of the final round of the NM IPA Challenge
