The Week Ahead in Beer: Get your Zozobra pint glasses ASAP

Stoutmeister will have you covered for all things new in beer and brewery events every week.

If you follow just about any brewery on social media, you have probably seen a post or two about the New Mexico Brewers Guild’s annual Pint Glass Day. The Guild has collaborated with New Mexico artists to create a special glass, and this year’s edition features a celebration of the upcoming 100th anniversary of Zozobra, created by Syd Linkletter. Every time the Guild has had one of these releases, the glasses sell out fast. Very fast. Get thee to a participating brewery as soon as you can (as in, during your lunch break, or immediately after work). Need the list? Here they are by cities/towns/metro areas.

  • Albuquerque metro: Boxing Bear Brewing, Canteen Brewhouse, Ex Novo Brewing, Flock of Moons Brewing, JUNO Brewery, La Cumbre Brewing, Nexus Brewery, Quarter Celtic Brewpub, Rio Bravo Brewing, Sidetrack Brewing, Steel Bender Brewyard, Tractor Brewing, Turtle Mountain Brewing

On the Ruidoso fires fundraising front, we have seen two events listed so far. Run for Ruidoso is this Friday at 6 p.m. at Canteen. It’s a fun run with a suggested $20 donation to the Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico. Each runner will receive a pint of beer, cider, or root beer with their donation. Donate more than $20 and you will get some additional swag. Over at Steel Bender on Tuesday, they will be holding a fundraiser for Albuquerque Animal Humane, which has taken in dogs and cats from both the Ruidoso area and from the areas near Las Vegas that recently saw flooding down the burn scar from last year’s big fires. Keep an eye on Steel Bender’s social media for more details. If any other Ruidoso-related fundraisers appear this week/weekend, we will add them here.

New Draft:

Bosque recently tapped Cereal Hobbyist, a juicy pale ale made with, well, you can guess. Boxing Bear reached back into the archives to resurrect Paw Swipe Pale Ale.
