Sometimes breweries come up with events that one could consider genius, or insanity. The Brewathlon is a little of both, in our opinion. This new event from Brew Lab 101, benefiting R4 Creating in Rio Rancho, will take place this Saturday from 3 to 6 p.m. You can sign up here for all four events, or just one. Basically, it combines four favorite drinking games — flip cup, pong, quarters, cornhole — into a team competition. Grab your friends, sign up, and head on over there to see if you can beat the brewery’s team at what they hope will become an annual event.
New Draft:
Boese Brothers tapped a Watermelon Sour at its Heights taproom, and it should pop up at the remaining locations as soon as a tap becomes available. La Cumbre brought back Extra Slice of Hefen and also tapped New Fangled Pilsner. Marble added Memorial IPA, made with the Veterans’ Hop Blend from Yakima Chief Hops, back on Monday. Nexus brings back seasonal favorite Trampled by Tangerines. (UPDATES) Bosque added Moral Support, a new hazy IPA. Gravity Bound brought back Mango Layer. La Cumbre tapped Happy Hues, a new hazy IPA. Quarter Celtic added Trident True Pale Ale. Sidetrack brings back MX Amber Lager.
Up in Santa Fe, Second Street tapped Jazzerthise IPA and African Queen Pale Ale. Over in Moriarty, Sierra Blanca wants everyone to know that Steep Hard Tea, in berry and lemon flavors, is now available for summer on draft and in a 3-liter (!) party bag. (UPDATES) Bathtub Row beers are back, with Caldera Kolsch, Jemez Hazy IPA, and Witrock the first three to come from the new brewhouse.
New Package:
Ex Novo brings back its prickly pear sour, Cactus Wins the Lottery, for the summer in cans and on draft. (UPDATES) Bow & Arrow has more Sunface White IPA coming out in cans and on draft this Friday. Boxing Bear brings back Chin Hook Mountain IPA in cans and on draft. Gravity Bound debuts Maizey Train Mexican Lager in cans and on draft. La Cumbre will roll out Harmonic Resonance, a hazy DIPA, in cans and on draft this Friday.
