Quartet of New Mexico breweries bring home medals from NABA competition

Quarter Celtic has added another medal to its wall of honor.

The North American Brewers Association announced the medalists for the International Beer and Cider Awards on Friday, with four Albuquerque breweries combining to win four medals.

Quarter Celtic picked up its fourth medal in the last three competitions by earning a gold in the Collaboration Beers category for Birra al gusto di Birra, the Italian pilsner created with Palmer Brewery for last month’s United in Beer festival at Ex Novo.

This marks the second time that Quarter Celtic and Palmer won a medal together, having previously earned a bronze at the 2018 Great American Beer Festival for Mocha Hipster Bomb.

Quarter Celtic recently won two medals at the Australian International Beer Awards and claimed gold at the World Beer Cup.

Flix Brewhouse earned two silver medals, for ABQ Lucha Libre in the Latin American or Tropical-Style Lager or Ale category, and for Spring Fling in Fruit Beers. The Lucha Libre also won a silver at the 2022 Great American Beer Festival.

Nexus was awarded a bronze medal for its Scotch Ale in the Scotch Ale (Wee Heavy) category. It is always nice for a brewery to win for a year-round beer that has long been one of its best sellers.

Congratulations to all the winners!
