Identifying all 16 entries in the recent New Mexico IPA Challenge

Many of you have been asking us for the names of the beers submitted to the New Mexico IPA Challenge. Actually, you have probably been asking us that question for years.

Well, this year we finally decided to reach out to the breweries and see just what were those wonderful hoppy elixirs that we all sampled at Flix Brewhouse on Saturday. Not everyone has responded (yet), but here is what we have. Beers are listed in the order of finish. To catch up on all the details about the final round, check out our event recap.

  1. Bosque Brewing (69 votes), Participation Ribbon (hazy, on tap)
  2. Steel Bender Brewyard (47), Big E IPA (West Coast, on tap and in cans)
  3. Bow & Arrow Brewing (43), Like a Diamond in the Desert, Like a Beacon in the Night (hazy, on tap and in cans)
  4. Hidden Mountain Brewing (39), Icarcus Double Hazy IPA (on tap)
  5. Flix Brewhouse (36), TBA
  6. Icebox Brewing (35), HIPA Violation (hazy, on tap at all locations, but it’s going fast as they only brewed 10 barrels)
  7. Sobremesa Restaurant and Brewery (35), East Meets West (hybrid, on tap)
  8. Ex Novo Brewing (31), Double Vision (juicy DIPA, on tap)
  9. Marble Brewery (26), Desert Fog Hazy IPA (on tap and in cans)
  10. Canteen Brewhouse (25), Good Boy, Rosco! (hazy, on tap)
  11. Rio Bravo Brewing (23), Pop Rock and Hop It (hazy, on tap)
  12. Three Rivers Brewery (22), Sky’s the Limit (DDH version of house IPA, Sky High, on tap)
  13. Sidetrack (21), Fifth Dimension IPA (West Coast, on tap)
  14. Santa Fe Brewing (18), Freewheeler Hazy IPA (on tap and in cans)
  15. Second Street Brewery (17), Sloppy Sloth Citra Hazy IPA (on tap)
  16. Quarter Celtic Brewpub (16), Ahnold Thiolager (thiolized IPL, on tap)

Bosque may have won the competition, but we gotta give it to Icebox for best beer name.

We will keep updating this list as those names come trickling into our inbox. But, the good news is there are plenty identified above, so if you missed the competition, or just want to go back and retry any of the IPAs, now you can.
