Dripline Brewery shines in lead-up to their grand opening

A lively crowd packed into Dripline Brewery for the soft opening this past Saturday.

Amid all of the recent doom and gloom surrounding the local craft brewing scene, this past weekend saw a new bright light shine a little hope down in the Wells Park neighborhood.

After many years in planning, Dripline Brewery hosted an invite-only soft opening Saturday, welcoming a mix of friends, family, and industry colleagues to the finished space on the southeast corner of Second Street and Summer. It lies opposite of Voodoo Girl Pizza and Pints to the northwest.

There are only guest taps for now, but Dripline’s own beers should be ready soon.

A couple of us in the Crew stopped by to take some photos, say hello to the owners — Guillaume Dupont and Jacob Werenko — and a few other folks we knew, and enjoy our first pints on the premises. The only minor bummer was that an issue with the hot liquor tank in the brewery has left Dripline behind on their brewing schedule, so it was just a mix of guest taps from places like La Cumbre, Bow & Arrow, and more.

This Tuesday will mark the brewery’s grand opening to the public, starting with their normal hours from 3 to 9 p.m. Those hours will hold Wednesday and Thursday, while Friday will be 3 to 10, Saturday noon to 10, and Sunday noon to 8. The brewery will be closed on Mondays.

The covered portion of the patio figures to be quite popular on good-weather nights.

There is parking in a lot off Summer to the east of the brewery. Food trucks will typically be parked on Second Street.

The outdoor area is a spacious delight. As one of us got there a little later, it was already getting dark and hard to see everything they have set up at this point. An Instagram reel showed cornhole boards among other features.

There is a lot of space outside, with a game area just over that little hill.

Overall, the vibe was warm and welcoming. It truly feels like a family-oriented brewery with a relaxed atmosphere. The emphasis on the outdoor elements sets Dripline apart somewhat from the other breweries in Wells Park.

We look forward to heading back soon to try their own beers when those become available, which we will certainly keep everyone updated about.

The lights will be on for the grand opening Tuesday.

Until then, we congratulate Guillaume, Jacob, and everyone else involved with Dripline in getting the doors open at long last.

Keep supporting local!
