The temperatures are going up this weekend, which means it might just be time to go hide in the mountains for a few hours. Of course, this being New Mexico, there are breweries in those mountains, including Jemez Mountain Brewhouse in Jemez Springs.
Starting today (Thursday) and running through Monday, Jemez Mountain is celebrating their third anniversary. In case anyone missed our last story on the brewery, they have been brewing their own beer since last August, and this weekend will mark the debut of After Midnight, an American pale ale. If it’s half as good as Midnight Moonlight Pale Ale, their debut beer, then it alone is worth the trip up Route 4.
Of course, that is not just it, as the pizza at Jemez Mountain is among the best in the state (no, really). To add to the great food and beer, the “Jamiversary” will also feature a whole lot of live music. Here is the entire schedule:
- Thursday
- Canyon Standard Time 4-8 p.m.
- Friday
- John McEvoy 4-5 p.m.
- Mark Whitcomb & John Urban 6-8 p.m.
- Saturday
- Yoga in the Park with Meg 11 a.m.-noon
- Kent Taylor noon-1 p.m.
- Lane Stevens 2-5 p.m.
- Josh Martin 5-8 p.m.
- Sunday
- Greg Mertz 1-2:30 p.m.
- Kent Taylor 2:30-4 p.m.
- Peter Harrington 4-7 p.m.
- Monday
- Tom Swetnam (local historian) noon-1 p.m.
- Devin Rivera (comedy) 1-2 p.m.
- Maximus Wilkins 2-4 p.m.
- Adrian Wall 5-6 p.m.

The good folks at Jemez Mountain also sent over a nice little press release highlighting some other aspects of how year three went at the brewery, with this one being perhaps the most notable: “Thank you to the Regional Development Corporation (RDC) for their 2025 TEAM Fund award. The RDC award will help us keep our brewing side of the Brewhouse climate-controlled, and is the second award that JMB has received from the organization. We appreciate their continued support for small businesses like ours.”
Other highlights included taking some of those tasty pizzas over to Bathtub Row Brewing in Los Alamos every Monday, hosting wedding receptions and private parties, and just providing a place for the greater Jemez Springs community to gather and have a little fun.
The Crew is clearly overdue for a return trip to the mountains, so hopefully we can trek northward soon and enjoy a pie and a pint.
Keep supporting local!
