Lasso Brewing joins list of top laid-back pubs in town

Hello, you lovely lager house!

Just in case anyone missed it during the holiday week, Lasso Brewing is now open and serving coffee and lagers at Gold and Sixth Street downtown.

We got a super-quick tour of the shared brewing area in the back and will be sure to do more in the future, but co-owner Chris Frigon was an incredibly busy man at the time of our visit.

Lots of barrels were present for future projects.

Besides, we were there to chill with a proper pour, and that’s exactly what we got. Lasso has a very relaxing vibe that makes it a great spot for one and all.

For a little background, in case anyone forgot, Lasso is the “sister brewery” of Gravity Bound. The GB owners were looking for a bigger brewing space to keep up with customer demand, particularly for lagers. They talked to the owners of Boese Brothers, who wanted to keep their downtown brewing space but no longer wished to operate the taproom out front.

Both breweries now share the space in the back, brewing on separate systems. The Lasso system will handle mainly lagers to be tapped on site, but there will also be beers for Gravity Bound. The original GB system will be refocused on brewing small-batch experimental beers, particularly IPAs and sour ales.

Anyway, we want to know what you think of Lasso so far. Leave us a comment here or on social media, or send us a DM or an email to nmdarksidebrewcrew@gmail.com.

You can take the lagers home, too.

Keep supporting local!
