The Week Ahead in Beer: Stout season is probably sadly coming to an end

Stoutmeister will have you covered for all things new in beer and brewery events every week.

The temperatures are rising. Like, really, really rising. We know what that means. It’s time to put away our hoodies. It’s time for beers to turn lighter in color. If not for the upcoming NHL playoffs and some metal shows, we would be some extremely sad Crew members. But, as noted, this is basically the end of stout season, with a few final seasonal releases appearing before the darkness retreats from the summer sun. So we will be enjoying the remaining one-offs, this heatwave be damned, all week until the supply runs out. The newest stouts are listed below at Flock of Moons, Marble, Turtle Mountain, and Bathtub Row. Go get some before we show up. Kegs of dark beers tend to end up floating whenever we get there.

New Draft:

Canteen tapped What a Good Boy Am I!, a fruited wheat ale. Flock of Moons brought back Brighid’s Mantle, an Irish dry stout, on nitro. Marble added The Parting Glass, their Irish dry stout on nitro. Thirsty Eye tapped &#!%, an “accidental” pale ale that happened when a certain head brewer put the hops for the IPA into the red ale. Turtle Mountain rolled out Snakedriver (Irish dry stout), Sunshine (tropical coffee stout), The Troubles (Irish red ale), and on Sunday the 27th Anniversary Ale will debut, a golden ale brewed with toasted coconut, mango, and pineapple.

Up in Santa Fe, Santa Fe Brewing recently tapped Nitro Milk Stout. Over in Los Alamos, Bathtub Row added Black Pearl, a dark lager, and Irish Goodbye Stout. Down south, Truth or Consequences Brewing tapped Summer Daze, a hazy IPA.

New Package:

The Pink Boots Society’s annual collaboration beer is due out this Friday at multiple breweries, including La Cumbre, where it was brewed. Called The Fementress, it’s a session IPA that will be available in cans and on draft, and we will have more on this one in a separate feature later this week.
