Greetings New Mexico craft beer lovers, this E-Rock (and Stoutmeister) back to bring you this installment of The Week Ahead in Beer. This column is hand-crafted to keep you up to date on all of the seasonal beers, news, and events served up at breweries and tap rooms in New Mexico.

The whole everything-by-email system is still a work in progress, so I have again called upon Stoutmeister to help me fill out this column. I did the hard part, emailing all the breweries, while Stoutmeister just has to type it all up and make it look good. (Yeah, you did the “easy” part, sure. At this point I’ve lost count of how many pints E-Rock owes me. — S)

In event news, Marble is hosting the Son of Septemberfest this Saturday. It will be closer to the IPA Challenge in format than a regular beer festival. For $15 you get a tray of 12 beers from 12 different breweries, then an Oktoberfest-style mug of your favorite beer. Buy your tickets now at any Marble location, though the event will be just at the downtown pub. Stoutmeister will have a full preview of the event up by Friday at the latest.

Unfortunately our chartered bus trip to Duel has been canceled. Not enough people between our group, the Babes in Brewland, and the ABQ Craft Beer Drinkers Group signed up. In fact, only Stoutmeister signed up. We’ll head up to Duel eventually, just not this weekend.

At this point I’m going to take over. E-Rock sent out emails to all the breweries listed below. Only a few responded this week. Thanks to those that did. Right now in the Duke City, Bosque is introducing the Nor’wester IPA. La Cumbre debuts the next entry in its Project Dank Series, this one called Operation Return of Pharoah. Marble wins the best-name-of-the-week honors with Thunder from Dortmunder. Turtle Mountain will resurrect the Genesis IPA on Friday.

In the City Different, Blue Corn has unveiled The Paonia Wet Hop. Santa Fe Brewing will have Quaker Brown Ale on tap for this week’s edition of Small Batch Saturday.

Elsewhere in New Mexico, Blue Heron has concocted Penasco Porter. Taos Mesa brings forth The Rainy Day IPA and Crosseye Fresh Hop Rye. The Wellhead has its Cisco Canyon Blonde Ale and Indian Basin Wheat back on tap.

Beers: Monk’s Triple is now on tap. Several times a year ABP serves up the latest creation by local brewing hero and winner of the Samuel Adams Longshot competition, Ben Miller, or seasonal releases by Monks Brewing.

Back Alley Draft House — 766-6973 (NYPD)

Beers: Red Ale, Belgian White, IPA, Imperial Russian Stout. Updated! Thank you to Addison for getting back to us. The Red Ale is the newest entry on BADH’s homemade lineup. We will have to head down there to check it out and let you know if it falls more toward the Marble (hoppy) or Il Vicino (malty) side of the red spectrum.

News: Celebrate Dollar off Tuesdays on your favorite beers. Industry people always get a dollar off; show your server certificate or some other proof that you work in the crazy restaurant/bar industry. (Kitchen peeps TOO!)

Blue Corn Brewery — (505) 438-1800

Beers: Smoked Plaza Porter, Scottish Export, Cerveza Obrera, The Paonia Wet Hop. The Smoked Porter should be back on tap by Friday. Blue Corn’s website had this to say about the Cerveza Obrera, “This Classic American Style Pilsner was made with flaked maize and the lightest pilsner malt I could find. The result is a light and crisp beer. This beer is similar to the mass produced American lagers.” (4.8% ABV, 20 IBUs, OG 1.042) The new Paonia Wet Hop is an IPA checking in at 7.4-percent ABV and 100 IBUs.

Blue Heron Brewery — (505) 579-9188

Beers: Blue Heron Blonde, Tarantula Trek Red Ale, Whitewater Wheat, Lava Rock Pale Ale, Penasco Porter. Shilling and Stoutmeister consider the La Llorona Scottish Ale to be one of the best beers brewed anywhere on Planet Earth. Yup, the whole darned planet. Though it is not on tap at the moment, it is still available in bombers. The new Penasco Porter is “a dry dark porter with a touch of roasted porter in the background,” according to Blue Heron’s website.

Bosque Brewing Company — (505) 750-7596

(Mon–Thurs 11 a.m.–10 p.m., Fri–Sat 11 a.m.-11 p.m., Sun noon-8 p.m.)

Beers: Far Darrig Red Ale, Doppelbier (8.4% ABV), Saison Rouge (Dark Saison), Pale Ryder (Pale Ale), Engaano Hefeweizen, Nor’wester IPA. Stoutmeister stopped by Bosque with Franz Solo and Mrs. Solo last week. They all rather enjoyed the Far Darrig, which is brewed in the classic Irish tradition. It’s malty goodness with just enough, but not too much, sweetness. Grab and pint and let the day unwind around you. New to tap this week is the Nor’wester IPA (7% ABV, 65 IBUs), which is brewed with Chinook hops and is in the style of IPAs from Oregon and Washington.

News: BBC will be brewing an Oatmeal Stout in the near future.

Bosque has a new happy hour running from 4-6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and all day on Sunday. Look for a revamped menu and get $1 off your favorite pints.

Also in the near future Bosque will be expanding as the Subway next door moves out. Bosque will take over the space and begin the process of installing a new 10-barrel system, which will replace the current 3.5-barrel setup.

Broken Bottle Brewery — (505) 890-8777

(Mon–Fri 4 p.m.–midnight, Sat noon–midnight, Sun noon–10 p.m.)

Beers: Hwy. 6 Scottish, El Campeon, Cactus Juice Ale, Tingley Peach. Updated! (the lineup stayed the same) El Campeon is a light American ale, and Cactus Juice Ale is an American ale made with a whole lot of locally picked prickly pear fruit. Hwy. 6 Scottish is the winning beer from B3’s recent home brewer’s contest. It was brewed with home brewer Kenny Garcia. Stoutmeister and Franz Solo gave it a thumbs up. Events: B3 has $3 beers every Tuesday from open to close. On Wednesday, B3 will be hosting their open mic from 8-10 p.m., with signups starting at 7:30 p.m. Check out B3’s new karaoke night every Thursday starting at 8 p.m. On Saturday starting at 2 p.m., B3 will host World Tavern Poker (it’s free to play and you can earn points, prizes, and a shot at the World Series of Poker).

Cazuela’s Seafood & Mexican Grill — (505) 994-9364

(Open daily 8 a.m.-10 p.m.)

Beers: Papa Cabra (Double IPA), Acapulco Red, Panama Red, Acapulco Gold (Mexican Lager) (5.2% ABV), Hefe Weizen (5.5% ABV), Robusto Porter (5.9% ABV), Inebriator (Doppel Bock) (8+% ABV), Chupacabra IPA (7.2% ABV), Pastizal Oatmeal Stout (5.5% ABV), Piedra del Fuego Stoned Cream Ale (5.0% ABV), ESB (5.2%). Those are last week’s beers. Stoutmeister and I had a chance to sample the Piedra del Fuego Stoned Cream Ale. According to Cazuela’s menu: “This cream ale uses red-hot stones to super caramelize the sugars, creating a nutty, toffee-like flavor.” Stoutmeister and I don’t always agree on beers, but we both found this light yet flavorful cream ale to be one of our favorites.

Chama River Brewing Company — (505) 342-1800

Beers: Hop Slap IPA, Bonus Czech Pilsner, Summer Ale, Last Minute Ale. Those are last week’s beers. The newest Chama’s seasonals is the Last Minute Ale, which Chama’s website describes like so, “The unique flavor of this beer comes from renouned aroma varieties of hops, all of which were added in the last fifteen minutes of boil. This one-of-a-kind ale was fermented at lower temperatures to offer a crisp clean flavor, balance of malt, and American hops.” (4.9% ABV, 26 IBUs)

News: Mondays all summer, Chama is offering their Brew Club Members half off an entree when one entree of greater or equal value is purchased. They also offer half-priced bottles of wine from their glass list all day Monday.

Comanche Creek Brewing Company — (575) 377-2337

(Wed-Sat noon–6 p.m.)

Beers: Creekside Blonde, Farmhouse Wheat, Iron Mountain Porter, Homestead Amber Ale. Those are last week’s beers. The porter and amber were the two beers on hand when Stoutmeister and I visited Comanche Creek last year. The porter is a burly beast that will go perfect with the nights as summer turns to fall in northern New Mexico. The Homestead is often bottled and served at establishments in the Eagle Nest/Angel Fire area.

Duel Brewing Company — (505) 474-5301

(Sun 11 a.m.–8 p.m., Mon–Tues 11 a.m.–10 p.m., Wed–Sat 11 a.m.–midnight)

Beers: Duchamp Sour Wit, Fiction IPA, Non-Fiction Pale Ale, Night Watch (whiskey barrel-aged porter). Duchamp is a Belgian-style sour wit with lots of citrus punch (5% ABV). The new Night Watch checks in at “only” 9-percent ABV.

News: Duel is currently carrying Blue Corn’s Scottish Export on its guest tap, replacing the Santa Fe Saison ’88.

Duel is having an anniversary party Oct. 19 and 20 that will feature, you guessed it, a live duel between fencing partners. Plenty more including live music and special brews will be on hand. Look for more info as the staff finalizes all the details.

Eske’s Brew Pub — (575) 758-1517

(Mon–Thurs 4 p.m.–10 p.m., Fri–Sun noon-10 p.m.)

Beers: Rio Red Ale, Naked Apricot Ale, Green Chile IPA, Chemist Ale, Seco Stout, Blonde Betty. Those are last week’s beers. The Green Chile IPA got a big write-up in the Albuquerque Journal‘s revamped Friday entertainment section recently. The Chemist Ale is one of the few (perhaps only) gluten-free beer brewed in New Mexico.

High Desert Brewing Company — (575) 525-6752

(Mon–Sat 11 a.m.–midnight, Sun noon-10 p.m.)

Beers: Wheat Ale, Peach Wheat, Hefeweizen, Amber Ale, Octoberfest, Anniversary IPA, Fresh Hop IPA, Rye Beer, Stout, Porter, Barley Wine. It’s the same lineup as last week. Stoutmeister had the Octoberfest two years ago and enjoyed it, though he warns that it is a lot sweeter than most Marzen-style beers. High Desert Brewing Company is located at 1201 W. Hadley Ave. in Las Cruces.

Il Vicino Brewing Canteen — (505) 881-2737

(Sun–Thurs noon–10 p.m., Fri–Sat noon–midnight)

Beers: Dark American Lager (GABF entry), Bourbon Barrel Aged Dark Strong, Sucellus Stout, Boysenberry Wheat, Hell-yes, Identity Thief (Belgian blonde), Panama Joe’s Coffee Stout, Cerveza Rita (28M American Wheat with margarita mix, served frozen or neat). The Sucellus Stout is Il Vicino’s GABF pro-am dry stout brewed by Marc Bernard, Il Vicino’s home brew competition winner. The Panama Joe’s has returned and the Crew enjoyed it during our Saturday beer brunch recently at Franz Solo’s house. It is also GABF-bound next month.

Cask: On Wednesday, the Canteen will feature the Crystal IPA as part of Hop Hullabaloo. Saturday’s cask was still up in the air, but we bet it will be something delicious. For those who aren’t in the know, Hop Hullabaloo happens every Wednesday at the Canteen. Every Wednesday, brewers will start with a Wet Mountain IPA base and dry hop a single hop variety over that base. The idea is to give faithful Cask Wednesday patrons a unique view of how cask aging affects the flavor profile of different hops.

La Cumbre Brewing — (505) 872-0225

Beers: Hoppy & Weiss, Project Dank: Operation Return of Pharoah, Who Gose There? (Leipziger-style Gose), Saison. According to La Cumbre’s website, Who Gose There? is “quite possibly the most obscure of all beer styles, Leipziger-style Gose is just starting to garner some attention. Very popular in Saxony during the 19th and early 20th century, this beer was actually packaged in a bottle with a long narrow neck that was bunged by the hardened yeast that collected in it. The beer style falls somewhere in between Berliner Weiss (another very rare style of beer) and a Belgain Witbier. Incredibly refreshing, low in alcohol, and rich in mouthfeel from the judicious use of malted wheat, this ale also contains corriander and an addition of…. salt? The finish is lightly tart and begs the drinker for one more sip.” (3.8% ABV, 16 IBU)

Cask: La Cumbre usually offers a couple beers on cask throughout fall and winter, but there is nothing on cask at this time.

Marble Brewery — (505) 243-2739

(Mon–Sat 1 p.m.–midnight, Sun 1 p.m.–10:30 p.m.)

Beers: Saison “de Primera”, Heisenberg’s Dark, Walt’s White Lie (available only on Sundays), Double White, Red Light Lager. Heisenberg’s Dark and Walt’s White Lie were inspired by Breaking Bad. Marble still has Walt’s White Lie, but they are going to limit it to Sundays for their Breaking Bad viewing party. They will do growler fills and serve pints to people watching the show at Marble, though get there early, as the ABQ Beer Geek told us the keg had run dry before the show even started on a recent Sunday. Saison “de Primera” is a traditional, Belgian-inspired ale that is a first class example of balance between fruity, spicy flavor and aroma. The new Thunder from Dortmunder got this little write-up from Marble: “In proper German fashion, this Dortmunder Export is a harmonious display of balance, purity, and simplicity. PROST! (5.8% ABV)”

Cask: Check out Marble’s cask (a.k.a. “real” ale) selection on tap every Friday at the Downtown Pub.

News: The brewers at Marble are busy working on their GABF entries. Watch for one of those entries, the Stout Americano, on tap in the near future. The Red Light Lager, Josh’s recurring session beer, is back on tap with its deliciously dry-hopped flavor sensations. Drawing inspiration from Ted’s recent trip to London, Team Marble also brewed a single-hop, session ale featuring the South American hop variety Southern Passion. They will be releasing their Pumpkin Ale on Oct. 9 at 5 p.m. In addition to the classic Marble pumpkin-inspired ale, they’ll also be releasing a richly dark, malty version of Pumpkin Ale. Finally, Harvest Season culminates the Downtown Growers Market’s annual fundraiser Hops and Harvest on Oct. 12, the Downtown Growers Market annual fundraiser held at their Downtown Pub.

Mimbres Valley Brewing Company — (575) 544-2739 (Deming)

(Deming Brewery Hours: Mon–Fri 11 a.m.–8 p.m., Sat 11 a.m.–9 p.m., Sun closed)

(Las Cruces Taproom Hours: Mon–Sat noon–midnight, Sun noon–9 p.m.,)

Beers: Liquid Nap, Belgian Wit, Silver Spike IPA, Beer Goggles, America Pilsner, New England Hard Cider. Liquid Nap is a Belgian Style Tripel. While being a strong beer, it is sneaky smooth. Hard Ciders have grown increasingly popular in recent years, yet they are still pretty hard to find on-tap. The MVB Hard Cider is brewed with apples, brown sugar, and honey and has a high ABV of 8 percent. Because of the high alcohol content, the Hard Cider is served in 10-ounce glasses only. This dry cider is different from most other ciders. Mimbres Valley has a brewery in Deming and a taproom in Las Cruces. Both locations feature $7 tasting flights, and both locations carry the brews listed above.

New Mexico Craft Brewing Co. — no phone number available

(Sun–Thurs 11 a.m.–10 p.m., Fri–Sat 11 a.m.–midnight)

Beers: AIPA, Strong, Oatmeal Stout. Those are last week’s beers. NMCBC has a brewery in Las Vegas, and they also sell beer at the Sand Bar in Albuquerque near Journal Center. The Crew got to sample the Strong Ale and recommends this beast of a beer for the adventurous beer drinkers out there. Just make sure to drink it after you play on the sand volleyball courts.

News: NMCBC picked wild hops in Gallinas Canyon, and they are brewing them in a wet-n-wild hopped ale right now. They have growler fills going on at the brewery of AIPA, Strong, and Oatmeal Stout.

Nexus Brewery — (505) 242-4100

(Sun–Thurs 11 a.m.–10 p.m., Fri–Sat 11 a.m.–midnight)

Beers: Imperial Cream, Brown, Beam Me Up Scottish, American Amber Ale. Nexus’ English-style Brown made its first appearance at the Beer Premier, and now it is at the brewery patiently waiting for you to drink it. It’s a little more sweet than nutty on the brown ale spectrum. Beware the Beam Me Up, which checks in at a hefty 11.2-percent ABV.

Cask: There is nothing on cask at the moment but something new and exciting should be available by the weekend.

Events: Nexus serves up Happy Hour All Day on Tuesday featuring $3 pints. Also on Tuesday, Nexus will be hosting their comedy open mic, Young Dumb and Full of Comedy, starting at 7:30 p.m. in the Sun Room. They also have Ladies Night on Wednesday from 4-6 p.m. featuring $3 pints for the ladies.

Roosevelt Brewing — (575) 226-2739

(Sun 11 a.m.–9 p.m., Mon closed, Tues–Thurs 11 a.m.–9 p.m., Fri–Sat 11 a.m.–10 p.m.)

Beers: Eleanor’s Blonde Ale (5.5% ABV, 21 IBU), Portales Pale Ale (5.5% ABV, 45 IBU), Clovis Point IPA, Dirt Town Brown Ale (4.0% ABV, 23 IBU), Happy Heifer Hefeweizen (4.9% ABV, 17 IBU), Big Stick Stout, Cole Espresso Porter. Roosevelt Brewing is located at 201 S. Main Street in Portales.

Events: Wednesday night is Open Mic Night at Roosevelt Brewing.

Sandia Chile Grill — (505) 798-1970

Beers: Rattlesnake IPA, Rio Negro Sweet Milk Stout on Nitro, Barb’s Barrel Hefeweisen, Smooth Move Amber. Rio Negro Sweet Milk Stout is one of Burque’s smoothest and tastiest offerings.

News: A new batch of SGC’s award-winning New Mexico Gold Rush Pilsen will be back in a few weeks. There is a chance of a Double Pilsen this fall and the Red Ranger, a 7-percent version of the summertime Son Ranger, will be on tap in October.

Sandia Chile Grill will be helping Cottonwood Winery and Brewery open their first brewery in Artesia. They will be open for business soon.

Santa Fe Brewing Company — (505) 424-3333

(Mon–Sat 11 a.m.–10 p.m., closed on Sunday)

Beers: Quaker Brown Ale, Saison ’88, Oktoberfest. It may not feel much like fall but with the arrival of SFBC’s Oktoberfest it is not far off. The Saison ’88 was brewed in honor of SFBC’s 25th anniversary. It is also available for sale in cans just about everywhere you can find SFBC products. The Quaker Brown Ale, brewed by Bill Eckman, will be on tap for this week’s edition of Small Batch Saturday.

Events: $1 Off Growler Refills in the Tasting Room on Mondays. $2 Tuesdays at the Eldorado Taphouse. On Wednesday, there is a $2 Pint Special in the SFBC Tasting Room, and the Sangre de Cristo Craft Brewers’ Meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at the Tasting Room as well. On Thursday, there will be $1 Off Growler Refills at the Eldorado Taphouse.

Second Street Brewery — (505) 989-3278 (Railyard), (505) 982-3030 (original location)

(Mon–Thurs 11 a.m.–10 p.m., Fri–Sat 11 a.m.–11 p.m., Sunday noon-9 p.m.)

Beers: Amber Ale, Kidder Special Bitter, Rod’s Best Bitter, Rod’s Steam Bitter, Tres Equis Lager, Palisades Pale Ale. Those are last week’s beers. Before the next Second Street monthly beer series rolls out for September, they have unleashed three English-style brews in the bitter family. Despite the name, these are often sweet, flavorful beers with a strong malt backbone. Taste them all to challenge your palate to pick out what makes each bitter unique.

Taos Ale House — (575) 758-5522

(Mon–Fri 4 p.m.-10 p.m., Sat noon-10 p.m., Sunday noon-8 p.m.)

Beers: Weisenberg (Light American Wheat), Simple Porter, Dirty Brown, Mogul Imperial IPA. Mogul Imperial IPA is local favorite and is still on tap. This IPA has a sweet, piney flavor. Shilling and Stoutmeister loved the nutty flavor of the Dirty Brown when they tried it earlier this summer. Last year’s batch of the Simple Porter, served at Hopfest, was excellent as well. The Weisenberg is named after, you guessed it, Walter White’s alter ego on Breaking Bad. This state loves that show.

News: TAH is currently brewing the Curcurbita Imperial Pumpkin. This bad boy should be ready by the end of September.

Events: TAH is going to the Taos Country Club on Sept. 21, and they won a Gold Medal for their Drunk Cyclist IPA (keg hopped with local grown Cascades) at the Gravity Games/ Brewfest at Angel Fire Resort recently.

Taos Mesa Brewing — (575) 758-1900

Beers: Lunch Pale Ale, Hopper, Marzen, Kolsch 45, The Rainy Day IPA, Crosseye Fresh Hop Rye. We’re still going to include Taos Mesa in our listings, even if they won’t respond to our emails and phone calls. So from their Facebook page: “The Rainy Day IPA (7.6% ABV, 80 IBU…This forward ale offers a bouquet of hops from both England and America. The light straw color is indicative of its light malt profile, allowing for a bigger hop experience.) We’re also featuring our Crosseye Fresh Hop Rye (7.2% ABV, 100 IBU…..This hop forward ale uses local barley and rye from Colorado Malting Company in Alamosa, CO, and New Mexico Native hops from Amalia to create our annual fresh hop rye. Balanced malt and bitterness give way to subtle flavor profiles of the fresh hops—–only 8 hours from harvest to kettle! Grassy, piney, and citrus aromas abound from the late wet hop addition. Toast the season and The Valley!”

Three Rivers Brewery — (505) 325-6605

Beers: India Pale Ale, Papa Bear’s Golden Honey Ale, Atomic Pale Ale, Red Apple Flyer Cider, Grandpa Bear’s Double Golden Honey (X-Beer), Strawberry Wheat, S.M.A.S.H. – EPA, Bare Naked Aggie Wheat Ale, NM Colona, 3 Rivers Scottish Ale, Roustabout Stout, Arroyo Amber Ale. The Arroyo Amber Ale is the local favorite. It is copper-red in color, medium bodied, and is brewed with caramel malt with a nice hop balance. (5.0% ABV) Roustabout Stout is an oatmeal stout brewed in the English traditions. Made with malt sweetness and just enough hops to balance the beer. It makes for very easy drinking and pairs very well with chocolate. (5% ABV) Curious as to what S.M.A.S.H. means? “This is the next beer in our Single Malt And Single Hop series: an English Pale Ale. Pale Ale malt provides deep golden color and light biscuity malt flavor. Kent Goldings (the classic British hop) gives very clean bitterness and wonderfully earthy flavor and aroma. This one is special! Enjoy! (5.1% ABV)”

Cask: Three Rivers is now featuring the Juniper Amber Ale and S.M.A.S.H. – EPA on cask.

Tractor Brewing Company — (505) 433-5654 (Nob Hill Tap Room)

(The tap room is open Monday-Wednesday 3 p.m. to midnight, Thursday 3 p.m. to 2 a.m., Friday-Saturday 1 p.m. to 2 a.m., Sunday 1 p.m. to midnight)

Beers: Double Almanac (8.0 ABV), Hard Cider (8.0 ABV), India Black Lager (6.0 ABV), Milk Stout (6.0 ABV). Those are last week’s beers. Tractor’s Double Almanac is heavy in hops and heavy in alcohol. Amazingly, Stoutmeister has still not finished off the Milk Stout (or poor Dave is just grinding to keep up with our editor’s demand).

News: Tractor’s IPA and Farmer’s Tan Red Ale are now for sale in bottle form. Six-packs can be purchased at area liquor establishments, with 13 in the Albuquerque metro area including Jubilation.

There is also an expansion in the number of taps at ArtBar downtown, which already pours many Tractor beers.

This Friday, TMBC will be releasing their Genesis IPA. TMBC’s website had this to say about the Hybrid IPA, “This American I.P.A. brings you the best of both from our previous India Pale Ales. We combined two already fantastic recipes (TMBC and Independence) to bring you this citrusy & crisp I.P.A. A double dry-hop with an assortment of hops keeps this beer bountifully bitter.” (OG 1.060, BU 75, ABV 6.3%)

News: TMBC is opening at 10:30 on Sundays as opposed to 11 a.m. for the hardcore football fans.

TMBC’s Oktoberfest Lager will be released on Saturday, Sept. 28 in conjunction with Rio Rancho’s Oktoberfest on Sept. 28 and 29.

Cask: TMBC is currently featuring the Hybrid IPA on cask.

The Wellhead — (575) 746-0640

Beers: Wellhead PaleAle (5.3% ABV), Roughneck Red Ale (4.8% ABV), Roustabout Porter (4.8% ABV), Cisco Canyon Blonde, Indian Basin Wheat. The Wellhead is located in Artesia. The Roustabout Porter is available in the summer months replacing the stout. The brown-colored porter was originally developed in the 18th century for the working class or ‘porters’ of London. The malt and hop ingredients are simple and well-balanced. The Roughneck Red is as sweet malty Irish Red ale. The Chinook, Cascade, and Mount Hood hops create a wonderful aroma and flavor combination. Try this microbrew with spicy dishes or steak and the turtle cheesecake dessert.
