Greetings, New Mexico craft beer lovers. Stoutmeister here with The Week Ahead in Beer. This column covers all the breweries in Bernalillo and Sandoval counties, with Santa Fe’s eight breweries, one in Los Alamos, one in Moriarty, one in Red River, one in Silver City, and one in Truth or Consequences also joining the party.

Back in the early days of the lockdown, Other Half Brewing came up with the concept for All Together IPA. The idea was similar to last year’s Resilience, with one beer recipe offered up, with proceeds going to a specific cause. In this case, it is meant to go to healthcare workers or other deserving people in the area around the brewery. None of the breweries in New Mexico jumped on board at the outset, but eventually Icebox Brewing in Las Cruces made their own version of All Together. Now, Ex Novo is releasing its batch this Sunday at noon. The brewery is putting no limits on how much you can purchase, so if you want to load up case after case, you can! This is a 7-percent ABV hop-forward beer, with lots of Cascade, Citra, Mosaic, and Simcoe. All of the net proceeds will go back to the Ex Novo employees. Considering that Ex Novo sold out of crowlers within the first three hours of last Friday’s $5 promotion, do not expect the All Together supply to last beyond Sunday. Get out to Corrales early, so make some room in your beer cellar the day before.
One other bit of news that we wanted to pass along is that Red Door’s downtown taproom is reopening today (Wednesday). Its hours will be 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. Food and beer will be available for takeout.
On the new beer front this week, there are a few other new options to check out. Bosque is set to release Pickle Down Economics, a pickle gose, in cans on Thursday at all locations (and it sold out by Friday, FYI), (UPDATE) plus Zestoration, a lemon gose, arrives for growler fills this weekend. Bow & Arrow adds Quarantine Sunset Hazy IPA to its list of beers available for crowler/growler fills on Friday. (UPDATE) Boxing Bear would normally be hosting Bear Fest this weekend, but instead will settle for releasing Bear Fest Stay at Home Lager in cans on Saturday. Ex Novo also has fresh cans of Sons of Scotland and the new Dress Code, a cherry sour, will be in cans either Thursday afternoon or Friday (and it also quickly sold out), plus Paddy O’Friendly Dark Irish Red is available for growler fills. High and Dry tapped Helen: A Handbasket (Helles) and Bruised Knees IPA for crowler/growler fills. (UPDATE) Kilt Check goes back in time with the pre-Prohibition-style Lockdown Lager being tapped Thursday for growler fills. La Cumbre is releasing cans of Zuzax Ale, a kolsch-style brew, on Monday. (UPDATE) Marble is adding Porter at all three locations Thursday for crowler/growler fills. Nexus is bringing Beam Me Up Scotty back on Friday for growler fills for its anniversary weekend. Sidetrack added Mañana Mexican Lager for crowler/growler fills, with A Tribe Called Kolsch and Unclear Hazy IPA due up by the weekend. Starr Brothers wins again on the beer names with Ludwig Von Hazethoven, now available for crowler/growler fills.
Up in Santa Fe, Blue Corn has tapped some Whiteout Stout for crowler/growler fills. (UPDATE) Rowley Farmhouse Ales is releasing cans of The Other One Hazy IPA on Friday. (UPDATE) Second Street has tapped Saison for growler fills. Over in Los Alamos, Bathtub Row has added Grapefruit Session Ale in 22-ounce bottles. (UPDATE) Further north, Red River Brewing is tapping its summer favorite, Desperado Mexican Lager, on Thursday. Down south, Truth or Consequences Brewing tapped StarJuice IPA for crowler/growler fills.
Breweries, if there is anything not in here that you would like the public to know about, get in touch with us ASAP. We can continuously update this post as needed.
