
Hails and Ales, everyone, Franz Solo here to once again peer into the darkness of the stout … wait, wrong idiom (or is it?). Anyway, here’s The Week Ahead in Beer. Somehow it is December already, full-on brown Ale, barleywine, Scotch ale, porter, winter warmer, and stout season. Though, if we’re being honest, I daresay these styles are always in season, just a hair more appealing with slightly colder weather. In any event, delightful beers abound, La Cumbre is turning 11(!), it’s time to make posole, tamales, green chile stew, and biscochitos (among many other New Mexico favorites), holiday markets and clothing drives commence, and the grand march of the winter holidays is upon us!
New Draft:
Bow & Arrow will be tapping Beer League #5, a breakfast sour with maple, coffee, blueberry, and banana this Friday. Canteen has tapped Wicked Raven Russian Imperial Stout and Export Pale Lager. Gravity Bound has tapped Shallow Steps (hazy) brewed with Simcoe, Vic Secret, Strata, and Lemondrop hops. La Cumbre will have their Winter Dank this Friday, 2019 La Negra will be on tap on Monday, and Quercus Kettle-Soured Saison will be on tap on Tuesday. Late Shift Lager House has tapped Bitter Blue, and English bitter ale. Lizard Tail has tapped their Biscochito Brown Ale. Nexus brought back Chocolate Porter. Sidetrack has Crystal Kölsch on tap today. Sobremesa has their Lullaby Dry Stout (Irish Stout) now on tap. Steel Bender brings back Brickie American Stout on Thursday, and the Four Casks of Christmas begins Friday with Chocolate Orange Brickie paired with a cranberry walnut biscochito from Celina’s Biscochitos (the other three in this series will release every Friday until Christmas). Thirsty Eye will be tapping their Biscochito Liquido, a winter brown ale brewed with anise and cinnamon (also available on nitro) this Friday. Turtle Mountain brings the darkness with Perpetual Black Session, a Schwarzbier.
Down south, T or C Brewing will be releasing their 2021 Truth Serum (Barleywine) at both locations on Thursday.
