The Week Ahead in Beer: Holiday brew bonanza takes center stage

Stoutmeister will have you covered for all things new in beer and brewery events every week.

Fear not, last-minute shoppers, there are a ton of holiday markets at breweries this weekend, which we will cover below under events. But, this is a beer-centric weekly roundup, so let us just dive straight into the awesome new brews rolling out this week. Many are in package format, so in the end, just give the gift of beer. The best part is often that the person receiving that gift will share it with you. Because let’s face it, with few exceptions, you pretty much always give away beers that you would also love to drink.

New Draft:

Bosque just tapped Super Blueberry Wheat and Jean Cuffs, a double red, but check their site as those are not on tap yet at all locations. Brew Lab 101 tapped more Beyond the Pale Ale. Canteen added Goofy Foot Hazy IPA and more Irish Red. High and Dry tapped Grains & The Giant Peach Sour. Kaktus gets in the season with its Winter Bock. La Cumbre tapped Who Wears Short Schwarz? and Dedication IPA. Sidetrack added Rye’d on Rye Lager, and will also tap Side-Eye, a peppermint porter brewed in collaboration with their friends at Thirsty Eye (which is also the latter brewery’s first collab, as they told us in their Look Back/Look Ahead Series article). Tractor brings back dessert in a glass this Friday with Chocolate Mustachio Milk Stout. (UPDATES) We have been remiss in not pointing out the Four Casks of Christmas are back at Steel Bender, and this Saturday’s firkin will be filled with Wedding Cake Brickie Stout, paired with wedding cookies from Golden Crown Panaderia. Boxing Bear tapped Super Cereal Hazy DIPA, but the cans are only available at select retailers, not at taprooms this time around. Brew Lab 101 goes big with the return of Bourbon-Barrel-Aged Singularity Imperial Stout. Gravity Bound added Deep Coat Baltic Porter. Harmon Lane tapped Mayflower Stout, an imperial brewed with sweet potatoes and brown sugar. Marble brought back the decadent MavBock.

Up in Los Alamos, Bathtub Row tapped NM Red Chile Stout and 1907 Henley’s Scotch Beer.

New Package:

Bow & Arrow rolls out bottles and draft of Funksloth Foeder, an aged farmhouse ale dry hopped with Galaxy, on Friday. Bow & Arrow will follow that with a special Monday can-and-draft release of Deck the Mesa Walls, a Cascadian black IPA with peppermint. Ex Novo will unleash all four varieties of Kill the Sun Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout this Friday. Gravity Bound added Dream Line (Hazy IPA) in cans and on draft last weekend. La Cumbre rolls out bottles and draft of La Negra Reserve on Friday, but be aware the supply is very limited. Hidden Mountain will unleash the full power of its barrel-aged Oud Bruin, El Monstruo, in bottles and on tap this Friday. (UPDATES) Harmon Lane now has Black IPA in cans and on draft. Second Street brings back Jack Plane Porter in cans and on draft.
