Baseball is back this Thursday with the start of the Major League season, and that marks the first sign that summer is around the corner. Other signs include Ex Novo opening The Corral seven days a week, and Tumbleroot opening its patio at the Agua Fria taproom this Thursday. We learned that Isotopes Park will have a “Craft Corner” this season for both baseball games and New Mexico United soccer matches. Ah, it’s all rather wonderful, isn’t it? To kick it off, plunk yourself down at the bar at Canteen or Sobremesa this Thursday to watch some games. Canteen will have $1 hot dogs and $5 pints of Laid Back Lager all day, while Sobremesa is offering two hot dogs and the pint of your choice for $8. Only thirsty? All Sobremesa pints are $5. Not into hot dogs? The happy hour menu (save for sliders) will be available all day. Take me out to the ballgame, well, to the breweries, at least until the Topes start up on April 4.

Boese Brothers tapped Blueberry Sour. Bosque brought back The Year from Helles. La Cumbre also brought back its Helles Lager. Marble tapped more Tea IPA, and Que Onda IPA will debut this Saturday. Starr Brothers tapped Magic Melon, a watermelon gose. Steel Bender brings back Nigel Scottish Ale on Thursday, and will also unveil a new collaboration with Turtle Mountain called Bock ‘N Schwarz. Tractor added Hüll Melon Juicy Pale Ale. (UPDATES) Brew Lab 101 has a new X-IPA. Ex Novo has more V for Vienna on tap. High and Dry tapped Hop Ice (Cold IPA). La Cumbre added All Cold (Cold IPA). Lizard Tail tapped The Checkered Pilsner. Sidetrack tapped Third Man Hazy IPA.
Up in Santa Fe, Second Street tapped more Porch Season, a session IPA, and also brought back Rod’s Steam Bitter.
New Package:
Marble brings back Pink Lemonade Lager today (Wednesday) in cans and on draft. Second Street rolled out cans and draft of Zombie Star Double Hazy IPA. (UPDATES) Canteen brings back Trail Angel Pale Ale in cans and on draft this Saturday. Ex Novo will unveil Electric Ukelele, a hazy IPA with coconut, in cans and on draft this Sunday.

We recently learned that Desert Valley Brewing has closed its westside taproom. Desert Valley had ceased brewing a while back, selling its brewhouse to The Craftroom, which has since launched Late Shift Lager House. Desert Valley still had a following on the westside with its cocktails and innovative food dishes, but alas, it is no more.
High Desert Brewing in Las Cruces is closed indefinitely after a fire destroyed the kitchen earlier this month. They have set up a GoFundMe to help out their employees while they are closed. We will monitor their social media for updates on a (hopeful) reopening date.
Bathtub Row is in the midst of a major renovation in the back, with the concrete floor being replaced so they can install their new 7-barrel brewhouse and other equipment. Their lineup will soon be mostly guest taps, so be patient, and soon the beer will flow again, better than ever!
