Plenty of breweries are huge supporters of the arts in Albuquerque, regularly hosting art openings and keeping those paintings on the walls afterwards.
Some breweries will also invite homebrewers to join them to create special beers.
This Sunday, ReSource Brewing is doing both, inviting the husband-and-wife team of Neil and Gina Arnote to bring their creativity to the Northeast Heights taproom. Gina’s art will adorn the walls, with a reception from noon to 4 p.m., and the beer that Neil collaborated on with head brewer/co-owner Shawn Wright will be on tap.

While the art will be there all summer, the beer, Higher Frequency, will only be available for a short time as they only brewed a single barrel. Neil, whom we have known for some time, told us over text message that it is a 9-percent ABV beast, based on a Belgian tripel recipe and brewed with Lutra kveik yeast. They added hibiscus to give it a purple-red color and a sweet, flowery flavor and aroma.
Neil said they added the hibiscus “for taste and color to symbolize girl power.” He and Shawn knew each other through the Worthogs homebrew club, which helped lay the groundwork for both the beer idea and the art opening.
Neil shared some additional photos from the brew day.

And, being the good husband that he is, Neil also shared some of Gina’s artwork, which will soon adorn the ReSource walls.

We always love to see breweries employing their creative energies with the creative members of the community. Thanks to Neil for the heads up about this event and the photos. We will have to swing by to check out the art and the brew.
Keep supporting local!
