Last week, we highlighted the anniversary event for one of our top small neighborhood pub breweries, Sidetrack. Well, these anniversaries tend to roll over in bunches, and this week it’s another neighborhood pub’s turn, as High and Dry celebrates “seven years of pour decisions.” You gotta admit, that’s a damn fine slogan. As Sidetrack means so much to downtown, High and Dry means to the Lomas/North Nob Hill area. You see people walk over all the time from the surrounding homes and apartments, sit down at the bar, and they and the staff just restart the last conversation they had. It’s always been a fun, welcoming place, and on top of all that, a big supporter of local music. Naturally, High and Dry has invited over quite a few of their favorite bands, starting with Three Deuce Luce at 12:30 p.m., followed by the High and Drys at 3, our friends Red Mesa bringing the desert rock at 4, J.D. Nash at 7, and Los 33 will close it out at 8. There will also be complimentary hot dogs (of course) served until they run out, starting at noon, and a special double happy hour from noon to 2 with $6 pints. 505 Masala Munchies will cover the food the rest of the day. While we highly recommend getting there for Red Mesa, if nothing else, just pick whatever time is best for you and stop on by and raise a glass to another of our pubs that bring the neighborhood together. New Draft:

Bosque tapped Strategic Strategy, a hazy pale with mango and kiwi. Dripline will add Super Bloom Pale Ale on Thursday. Gravity Bound tapped Order of Operations, a new West Coast IPA, and Rigby, an oatmeal stout. La Reforma recently added Tangerine Tango IPA. Painted Lady will release All of Them Witches, a grapefruit and rosemary XPA, later this week. Rio Bravo recently added O’Bravo Irish Stout on nitro. Sidetrack’s previously unnamed anniversary beer that released last weekend was the Ruby Mild, and it’s darned tasty, as we tried it at WinterBrew. Tractor will release Red Ember IPA on Friday. (UPDATES) Canteen tapped Blood Orange Wheat. Flock of Moons added Mare Nectaris Juicy IPA. La Cumbre tapped Schwebach Lager. Steel Bender will release Die Dunkel Seite on Friday.

Up in Santa Fe, Rowley Farmhouse Ales tapped Second-String Loser, a Belgian golden strong that debuted to much acclaim at WinterBrew. Over in Los Alamos, Bathtub Row brought back Barranca Brown. Down south, Truth or Consequences Brewing will release Pork Chop Porter on Thursday. (UPDATE) Beer Creek tapped Danielweizen, named for their new assistant brewer, who of course brewed it.

New Package:

Canteen will bring back Cabana Mexican Lager in cans and on draft this Friday. Ex Novo recently released Swedish Swimsuit, a new West Coast IPA, in cans and on draft. (UPDATE) Ex Novo brought back Sons of Scotland in cans and on draft because they are wonderful.

Thursday — Trivia for a Cause: Squid Game will be hosted by Bosque Nob Hill at 6 p.m.

Saturday — The aforementioned High and Dry anniversary party will start at noon and go all the way to closing.

Sunday — The Valentine’s Sip and Shop market will be at Bosque North at 1 p.m.

The First Sunday Market is back at Tumbleroot Agua Fria at 2 p.m.

Quick News Bits:

Kaktus Brewing had an update in their weekly newsletter that there will be some major road construction starting soon on South Hill Road, so they are asking folks for some extra support while that’s going on. But, the good news is it will be to build Sandoval County’s newest and largest animal shelter, and that also means that utilities will now extend out there, which Kaktus will be able to tap into and help improve even more aspects at the brewery (bigger bathrooms, better water resources for brewing/growing food, etc.).

We recently sat down with the new owners of Marble Brewery to talk about, well, everything.

Rumor Brewing has launched a Kickstarter campaign to build a new playground for all the children of their customers who could use a fun place to play. Check out this link for more information, or read more about it in our recent Look Back/Look Ahead Series article.

There was some sad news last week as both Box Canyon Brewing in Socorro and Bossfight Brewing announced that they will close by the end of February, when their small brewer licenses expire.
