The Week Ahead in Beer: Flock of Moons teams up with CNM on new collab

Stoutmeister will have you covered for all things new in beer and brewery events every week.

For some time now, Central New Mexico Community College has been training future brewers in their program. Sometimes you will see the students at breweries, going on the best kinds of field trips to study how things are done outside the classroom. Well, on a recent field trip, the students worked together with Flock of Moons co-owner/brewer Jeff Tomlinson to create a new beer. Thursday, that beer will make its public debut. The Citrinitas Belgian Saison recipe was written by Tomlinson, but brewed by the students. It’s another sign of the growth of the CNM program. It’s actually one of two special collaborations out this week. The other was made by Thirsty Eye and the Worthogs homebrew club and is called Eye of the Hog. Guess what? It’s also a saison. So a tasty little homework assignment for everyone this week is to try both saisons, to compare and contrast, and of course just enjoy the collaborative spirit that extends beyond brewery to brewery.
