Keeping it short and sweet this week, because someone forgot he has to work a day shift and instead of doing this the night before watched Alien Earth instead.
Friday will mark the farewell party for longtime Canteen head brewer Zach Guilmette. The brewery is inviting all of his friends, fans, and colleagues to come on by and have a beer between 3 and 6 p.m. We’re working on a longer tribute to one of our local greats, a guy known as much for his wide smile and hearty laugh as his award-winning beers, in particular those lagers that he (and we) love so much. Come on down to the main brewery on Aztec and send a good man out in style!
New Draft:
Canteen recently brought back Helles Awaits on draft only. Flock of Moons gets into the season with Flocktoberfest. Nexus also gets into the season with their Festbier. Painted Lady keeps winning the beer name game with Werewolves Not Swearwolves, a brown ale, due out this Friday. Sidetrack should have Pub Ale and Duke of Earl, its tea-infused sibling, back on tap this week. Tractor will tap Maltenstein Festbier this Friday. (UPDATE) Canteen will tap Burq Reynolds IPA on Friday.
Down south, Truth or Consequences Brewing will release a full 15-barrel batch of Oktoberfest this Thursday, after a smaller batch went way too fast last year. (UPDATE) Santa Fe Brewing tapped Haze of our Lives.

Quick News Bits:
In case anyone missed it, Bosque will move production of their core, canned beers to Marble. Head to our story on the big move for more details.
Some good news from down south, Lost Hiker Brewing has reopened their main brewery location in Ruidoso Downs. The midtown location in Ruidoso will reopen in mid-September. Oh, and they are selling all LHB clothing for 50-percent off for the remainder of August. Not a bad deal, right?
Otherwise, it’s quiet out there, can’t you tell by our lack of other stories?
