The Week Ahead in Beer: One brewery could use an extra boost in sales

Stoutmeister will have you covered for all things new in beer and brewery events every week.

The crime problem in Albuquerque has hit breweries in the past, and this week it struck again. Calavida Cantina, previously known as Vision City, was hit by a thief who disabled their alarm system, crawled in through a skylight, and proceeded to rob the taproom of just about anything and everything he could take. As of publication, the thief has not been apprehended. The incident happened in the former Boxing Bear space at Alameda and Corrales, with the thief striking around 3 a.m. The brewery was able to reopen Tuesday, but thousands of dollars in damage had been done. There is video at this link from KRQE. The two best ways to help will be if anyone can identify the thief to please report on it to Albuquerque police, and then the other, simpler way is to head over to Calavida Cantina and enjoy a beer, a cocktail, some food, etc. The more support we can provide financially, the faster the brewery can recover.
