The quietest month of the beer will (mercifully) come to a close this weekend. There have not been many events beyond WinterBrew (we promise, our favorite beers list will be out this week, it just got pushed back by yesterday’s GABF news), and few new beer releases as the taps have remained fairly unmoved since 2026 began. But, there have still been some good charitable efforts since the holidays, and we wanted to highlight two more. First up, Ex Novo Downtown is inviting everyone to just come by and order a pint or two this weekend for Lagers for The Laundry Project. This charity helps people in need with something that most of us just consider an annoying chore — doing laundry. For every pint sold (and it’s not just lagers, you can order ales, too), $1 will be donated this Saturday and Sunday. They are also collecting supplies including detergent, fabric softener, and dryer sheets. Stop on by for a bite and a beer and help Ex Novo fulfill their mission of drinking beer and doing good.
The other charitable effort will be ongoing throughout 2026, and that’s Tractor’s Beer for a Better Burque initiative. This year, in honor of the Route 66 Centennial, Tractor is partnering up with four local main street organizations — Barelas Community Coalition, Downtown Main Street, Nob Hill Main Street, Revitalize San Pedro — to help those grass-roots groups better some of the older and yet still-vibrant areas of Albuquerque. Stay tuned for more details throughout the year.
New Draft:
Flock of Moons tapped their WinterBrew hit, Confusticate and Bebother!, a dark Yorkshire ale that will envelop you in flavor perfect for this up-and-down winter. Gravity Bound brought back their dark Mexican lager, Nightly Rituals. La Cumbre recently tapped Schwarzbier and Doppelbock. Marble added Burqueño Lager, Crispy Crystal Lager, Schwarzbier, and OJ Simcoe, a pale ale. Starr Brothers brought back their excellent oatmeal stout, Foggy Monocle. Steel Bender will bring back What We Brew in the Shadows, a black IPA, on Friday. Tractor will release their WinterBrew hit, Ole Wizard Fingers Doppelbock, on Friday. (UPDATE) Quarter Celtic brought back Clean Pair O’ Schwarz, their medal-winning schwarzbier.
Up in Santa Fe, SFBC tapped Sticky Paws Honey Rye, another WinterBrew standout. Over in Jemez Springs, Jemez Mountain Brewhouse added their first lager, Señor Lager.
New Package:
La Cumbre apparently did not bring back Siberian Silk Baltic Porter last week as their newsletter said they would, so keep an eye out on social media to see if any release details appear for this week. Second Street did in fact release the latest entry in their popular hazy IPA series, Sloppy Sloth Mosaic, in cans and on draft.
