Keeping this one short and sweet, since I switched up my schedule Wednesday for New Mexico United (again). It’s a holiday weekend, so fear not, we will have all those brewery hours of operation for the 4th of July on Saturday. That will be in a separate feature later this week. Otherwise, there’s fewer events this week, but a fair number of new brews to try, and of course plenty to take home. Just don’t drink too many and then try to launch fireworks. We want everyone and all their digits back safely at the breweries next week.
New Draft:
Bombs Away brought back American Lager and Initiator Light Lagter. Boxing Bear tapped Altberior Motives and Vienna Lager, the latter of which was my personal pick for the best of a very good For the Love of Lagers lineup last weekend. Flock of Moons brought back Heavy Footfalls, Moonlit Pines, their hefty West Coast IPA. Marble tapped Helles and Tree Spring IPA. Starr Brothers added Dodger Boy, a rice lager named for a very good doggo who recently crossed the rainbow bridge. Thirsty Eye tapped Rainshine, a grapefruit IPA. Tractor will release Clout Chaser IPA on Friday. Turtle Mountain tapped Dead Men Tell No Pale and Dankle Dunkel.
(UPDATE) Up in Santa Fe, Tumbleroot tapped their decadent Belgian Tripel.
New Package:
Second Street released Hoptimist IPA in cans and on draft. (UPDATES) Bow & Arrow released the latest in the Desert Standard series of lagers, a German-style Pilsner, in cans and on draft.
Notable Events:
Today (Wednesday) — Tractor Wells Park hosts a World Cup Watch Party for USA vs. Bosnia at 5:30 p.m., and we are fairly certain a lot of other breweries will have the game on, too.
Thursday — Pints for Pink, benefiting Pink Warrior House, is back at Painted Lady at 6 p.m.
