The Week Ahead in Beer: Bow & Arrow celebrates Gathering of Nations

Stoutmeister will have you covered for all things new in beer and brewery events every week.

The Gathering of Nations begins this weekend at Tingley Coliseum, and the annual celebratory and educational event will extend to Bow & Arrow. The brewery will host a special webinar today (Wednesday) at 11 a.m. Thursday will feature the Just Vote (Hazy DIPA) release at 5 p.m., along with Protect the Sacred Fireside Chat with Doggface and Tonia Jo Hall. Levi Platero will then provide live music from 6:30 to 7:30.. The Pioche Food Group Pop-Up will take place Friday from 2 to 10 p.m. Saturday will feature Natives in the Drinks Industry Meet-Up at 4 p.m., followed by live music from Sage Lacapa from 8 to 10. In addition, JUNO is hosting Indigenized: Heavy Music from Native Artists on Friday from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. Bands will include Simian Breed, Toni Heartless, Nocturne, and Retch Curtain, plus DJ La Ruda and DK K.O$$ on a second stage. Tickets are $10. And then, over at Flock of Moons, the Red Moon Indigenous Event is set for Saturday from 6 p.m. to midnight. This event will include special vendors, musicians, artists, and more. New Draft:

Canteen recently released Wheat Lies Within and GIPL (Grapefruit India Pale Lager). Casa Vieja tapped That’s My Jam (Strawberry Ale) and Casa Baja (Dark Mexican Lager). La Cumbre recently tapped Can You Drive a Sticke (Altbier) and Czech Engine Lite. Sidetrack added Lemondrop Cream Ale. Steel Bender will tap a special batch of Cider dry hopped with Calypso and Contessa on Thursday, followed by Comfortably Plum Saison on Saturday. (UPDATES) Bombs Away dropped a double release with American Lager and Independence Amber. Marble tapped their anniversary beer, Qualifier IPA.

Up in Santa Fe, Rowley Farmhosue Ales recently tapped Petite Razz. Second Street added Acqua Fredda, an Italian pilsner.

New Package:

Bow & Arrow will release the aforementioned Just Vote in cans and on draft this Thursday, followed by BISTI Pineapple Hard Seltzer also in cans and on draft on Friday. Ex Novo recently released One if by Land (Hazy IPA) in cans and on draft. Second Street released their Monsoon Hard Seltzer in cans. (UPDATE) La Cumbre brought back Sun Fade Hazy IPA in cans and on draft.

Friday — Gin & Jazz returns to Tractor Wells Park at 5 p.m.

Boxing Bear will host A Final Bearwell to the Corrales taproom from 6 to 9 p.m. Click that link for more details.

Saturday — Pups & Pints is set for Canteen from noon to 3 p.m.

Santa Fe Brewing will host the annual Spring Runoff at the headquarters location from noon to 8 p.m. There will be live music in the Beer Hall and at The Bridge all day. There will be outdoor activities, group bike rides, a recreation market, food vendors, and it will all support multiple non-profits. Check their social media for full details.

Marble Brewery will host its 16th anniversary party from noon to 10 p.m., and we had all the details last week.

There will be some metal at Tumbleroot’s Agua Fria taproom as Savage Wizdom will hold their album release party at 7 p.m.

Sunday — Sidetrack is hosting a Vinyl Record Market from 3 to 7 p.m.

Quick News Bits:

The World Beer Cup awards ceremony will be streamed live from Las Vegas today (Wednesday) at 6:30 p.m. Per the New Mexico Brewers Guild, a total of 26 New Mexico breweries have entered 128 different beers. The Crew will have a full recap later tonight or early Thursday, and we will follow up with the winners when they return from Nevada.

Congratulations to Rio Bravo Brewing on bringing home a pair of Gold Crushies from the Craft Beer Marketing Awards earlier this week. The brewery was honored for their Morning After Pils can design and for their New Mexico on Tap mural.

Bathtub Row is now open at noon seven days a week.

The Taos Mesa Brewing main location is closed until May 2 for some spring cleaning.

Sobremesa is hosting the Rock & Brew Book Drive now through Sunday. Drop off new or gently used children’s books and receive $1 off your beer order.
