Greetings, New Mexico craft beer lovers. Stoutmeister here with The Week Ahead in Beer. This column covers all the breweries in Bernalillo and Sandoval counties, with Santa Fe’s six breweries, one in Los Alamos, one in Moriarty, and one in Las Cruces also joining the party.
Marble has big plans for later this month with its massive 10th anniversary, but it has a cool charity event this Sunday as well. The downtown stage will be manned by three bands from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., all in support of The Mountain Dojo. The dojo is a unique collaborative arts and events space that benefits people with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder). It hosts everything from martial arts courses to African drumming lessons. It’s located at 319 Mountain Road, not far from Marble 111, so it is quite the natural fit. This is a family-friendly event at Marble, so bring the kids and enjoy music from Cactus Tractor (3 to 5 p.m.), Kung Fu Opera (5:20-5:50) and Wagogo (6:10-8). Food will be provided by Urban Hotdog Company and Rollin’ On In. Donations to the Dojo are encouraged.
On the new beer front this week, there are a few options to check out. Boese Brothers drops a fresh batch of Cascade Grenade this Friday.
