Greetings, New Mexico craft beer lovers. Stoutmeister here with The Week Ahead in Beer. This column covers all the breweries in Bernalillo and Sandoval counties, with Santa Fe’s eight breweries, one in Los Alamos, one in Moriarty, one in Red River, one in Silver City, and one in Truth or Consequences also joining the party.

Ex Novo has been one of the busiest breweries when it comes to specialty can releases throughout this year. We have covered before how their double brewhouse has been a huge advantage in keeping those flowing out the door. One of the most popular they have released to date was Dress Code, a cherry fruited sour brown ale. It is back today (Wednesday), and we will see if it sells out just as fast (four hours last time around). It still warms our blackened metal hearts to see people continue to get excited about these beer releases. Whether it’s Bosque’s Pickle Down Economics, any of the La Cumbre hazy IPA releases, or the various Ex Novo brews, it is great to see people continue to line up and charge in to get these even in a wobbly (to put it mildly) economy. And, as we covered Tuesday, Marble’s Heller Bock will be out today in six-packs at all three locations. We did a Zoom review that we will post soon, but to quickly sum it up, we really liked this crushable lager that will help us get through the 100-plus-degree temperatures this weekend.

On the new beer front this week, there some other fresh options to check out. Bombs Away, which also has its small kitchen up and running again, brings back High Speed Low Drag Lager and also adds Initiator Light Lager. Bow & Arrow taps Electric Desert Hazy IPA on Friday. Boxing Bear has more cans of New Mexi-kolsch. Broken Trail adds a fresh batch of Arroyo Blanco Wheat. Canteen fruits it up with Raspberry Wheat. Dialogue puckers up with Te Amo Cherry Gose. High and Dry adds three new ones in Kinda (Yellow), a blonde ale, plus The Dorado (NEIPA) and True Horizon (Red Ale). Marble also added Brown Exxxtra and Jenny from the Bock. Quarter Celtic flies in with more Clark Hazy IPA. Red Door adds a new Mexican lager, Mas, on Saturday. Starr Brothers ties the room together with another batch of Riff Raff Oatmeal Brown. Tractor kicks it up with more Boot Girl IPA on Friday.

Up in Santa Fe, Second Street tapped Hefeweizen and Isolator Doppelbock. Over in Los Alamos, Bathtub Row has fresh Hoppenheimer IPA back on tap.
