Greetings, New Mexico craft beer lovers. Stoutmeister here with The Week Ahead in Beer. This column covers all the breweries in Bernalillo and Sandoval counties, with Santa Fe’s eight breweries, one in Los Alamos, one in Moriarty, one in Red River, one in Silver City, and one in Truth or Consequences also joining the party.

One of the surprise big hits for Marble last summer was Pink Lemonade Lager. It will return this Friday in six-pack cans as well as on draft at all three taprooms, but now it comes with a charitable cause attached. For the month of May, Marble will donate $1 from every six-pack sold to the Barrett Foundation. The foundation’s shelter serves 300 women and children, providing 34,000 meals, 11,000 bed nights, and more than 1,000 hours of case management to help women and families find stable, affordable housing. Once again, we raise our glasses in appreciation of Marble’s ongoing commitment to helping charities and nonprofits in our community.

As for other can releases this week, the summer beer theme is strong. (UPDATE) Bosque spices things up with Hot Commodity, a spicy pickle gose, due out on Friday. (UPDATE) Bow & Arrow drops version three of Hola Hazy IPA, also on Friday. Canteen brings back Cabana Lager and Helles Awaits today (Wednesday). Harmon Lane will have its new seasonal IPA, Wind Blows, in cans on Friday, though you can already try it on draft. La Cumbre will roll out Strawberry Gose on Friday. Rio Bravo celebrates Cinco de Mayo with a new New Mexican lager made with blue corn, Plethora of Pinatas.

On the new draft beer front this week, there some fresh options to check out for pints or crowler/growler fills. Bosque goes In Search of Grapeness. Canteen added Social Capital Key Lime Pie and has more Mango Cider available. Gravity Bound added Elite Answer, a hazy DIPA, and No Glory in the West, a West Coast DIPA (no really, it’s a clear IPA), this past weekend. La Cumbre tapped WC Citra Haze DIPA. La Reforma has a new West Coast IPA, Viva Panchito. Lava Rock rolled out Barrel-Aged Wit and Abo Red Ale. ReSource gets in the holiday spirit with a small batch of Cesar Limon Mexican Dark Ale. Sidetrack has more Buzz Bomb, plus Miami Weiss. Sobremesa fruited a hefeweizen and named it Tangy Thang. (UPDATE) Tractor rocks out with Zappa IPA on Friday. Turtle Mountain is sailing the Amber Waves of Graham.

Up in Santa Fe, Hidden Mountain tapped more Hoppy Bunches of Oats. Rowley Farmhouse Ales recently added Easy Lover, a honey beer made in collaboration with Arizona’s Superstition Meadery, on draft and in cans.

Also, remember to get some Golden Girls, the collaboration beer made by the New Mexico chapter of the Pink Boots Society. The supply is limited, and it was split up between 13 breweries, so go grab some of this delicious Belgian golden strong and support the women working in our breweries. Boxing Bear released a special new canned offering, SMASH for Stache Motueka IPA, which is part of a national collaboration to help raise funds in the fight against brain cancer. Differential tapped a new Bock. Ex Novo is feeling golden with Rae of Sunshine on draft. Gravity Bound has a fresh batch of its popular gose, Garden Spot. Quarter Celtic brings back an annual favorite in Mangose.
