It warms our blackened little hearts to see so many breweries getting back to what they do best — besides making great beer, of course — and give back to the community. There are some awesome and unique charitable events this weekend at Canteen Brewhouse and ReSource Brewing in the NE Heights, plus a good fundraiser at both Second Street locations on Tuesday, and an ongoing fundraiser at both Turtle Mountain taprooms.
Bosque tapped The Driving Rain, a new hazy IPA, and brought back Old Man Jameson, a Scottish ale. Casa Vieja added more Mon Cheri Cherry Wheat, Zombie Apocalypse Lager, and the new Will Power IPA and Honey-Do-List Blonde Ale. High and Dry brings back Silversteed (American Lager). Marble tapped more Idaho 7 IPA for the start of the hot season. ReSource will tap the latest in its FOMO Series, this time with BRU-1 hops, on Thursday. Rio Bravo has Dice Roll Hazy IPA back on draft. Sidetrack added more Cucumber Kolsch. Starr Brothers tapped Hazy Baby and Cherry Bombed. Steel Bender will tap its collaboration with the Dark Side Brew Crew, Spring of Deception Maibock, on Thursday. Tractor rolls out Pilsner Roja on Friday. Turtle Mountain does not have any new beers on tap, but it will be donating $1 from every pint of Widespread Haze IPA to help victims of the wildfires in New Mexico. (UPDATES) Marble gets weird with Liquid Munchies, an American wheat ale infused with peanut butter, and raspberry and blueberry puree. Sidetrack tapped Lemondrop Lager and Cross Talk IPA. Steel Bender brought back Sparkfitter Amber.
Up in Santa Fe, Tumbleroot decided to paint a picture with Happy Pils. Over in Los Alamos, Bathtub Row added more Witrock, Munich Dunkel Lager, and the new Jemez Hazy IPA. Down south, Truth or Consequences Brewing will tap more Dark Skies Oatmeal Stout on Thursday.
Canteen will release Low & Slow Pale Ale, for its Drink Beer Save Turtles event, in cans and on draft this Saturday. Ex Novo has cans and draft of Krispy’s Kolsch, for real this time. Gravity Bound rolls out Obscurity in Bloom (Hazy IPA) on Thursday. Second Street went ahead and canned Outlier Special Bitter for the first time. (UPDATE) Boxing Bear is rolling out Polly’s Run Blonde Ale, a charitable beer to help in the fight against pancreatic cancer.
Saturday — Drink Beer Save Turtles will run from noon to 4 p.m. at Canteen Brewhouse. We will have more on this special event in a separate article.
ReSource is holding a fundraiser for Bro & Tracy Animal Welfare from 2 to 6 p.m. There will be live music, vendors will be offering 20 percent of their proceeds, and the brewery will donate $1 from every pint sold to help upgrade and maintain the mobile spay and neuter surgical vehicle, which is crucial in helping out in the more remote areas of New Mexico.
The Continental Divide Trail Coalition will celebrate its 10th anniversary at Bosque North from 4 to 8 p.m. There will be live music from Reviva and special door prizes, all to benefit the upkeep of the Contintental Divide Scenic Trail in New Mexico.
Monday — Tractor Wells Park will host a special screening of the midseason finale of Better Call Saul starting at 6 p.m. This is a ticketed event, and it sold out fast last time, so make sure to head over to Tractor’s Facebook page for the link.
Tuesday — Both Second Street locations will be donating $1 from every pint sold between 5 and 9 p.m. to the Santa Fe Community Foundation’s Community Resilience Fund to help victims of the wildfires in Northern New Mexico. There will also be a donation bin for needed items, so check the Second Street Facebook pages for a full list.
