The Week Ahead in Beer: Flocktoberfest and Labtoberfest have us all covered

Stoutmeister will have you covered for all things new in beer and brewery events every week.

A double dose of Oktoberfest on opposite ends of the metro area should keep everyone satiated this Saturday. Over in the Bricklight District off Central by UNM, Flock of Moons is hosting their first Flocktoberfest starting at 2 p.m. There will be live music from True Story House (3-5 p.m.) and Vakenn (7-10 p.m.), four German-style beers on tap (including a new one, see below), and a pair of feats of strength games — a stein-holding contest (sign-up at 4, competition starts at 5) and a Flocknägelstumpf, a nail-hammering game. BRAZD food truck will have a special menu with schweinshaxe, bratwurst, pork schnitzel, and German pretzels, running from 4 to 10.

Across town in Rio Rancho, Brew Lab 101 will host their Labtoberfest, also starting at 2 p.m. There will be live music, food specials, a costume contest, a stein-holding contest, a vendor market, plenty of beer, and more. Pick whichever event is closer to you and enjoy the best season once again!
