The Great New Mexico Food Truck Festival returns to the grounds of the Balloon Museum on Saturday from noon to 6 p.m. General admission tickets cost $5 in advance and $10 at the gate. There is also a VIP option for $20/$25 that gets you in at 11 a.m. (tickets were said to be limited, but there was nothing on their Facebook page about those selling out as of Friday afternoon).

In addition to all of the food trucks present, there will be quite a few craft beer options as well. It’s a distributor-controlled event, so there is not much local beer available. Abbey Brewing is sending Monks’ Ale, Dubbel, and Tripel. The De La Vega’s Pecan Beer is going to be there, along with a Hoppy Wheat. That mysterious Nuevo beer will be present. Rio Bravo is sending three beers, DRB IPA, Randy’s Red, and Old Town Porter.

As for the regional/national breweries, as provided by the event organizers (subject to change):

Avery — White Rascal, Ellie’s Brown, Raja DIPA, Lilikoi
Ballast Point — Pineapple Sculpin, Mango Even Keel, Watermelon Dorado
Boston Beer Co. — Sam Adams Grapefruit IPA, Nitro Belgian, Rebel Rouser IPA, Traveler Shandy
Breckenridge — IPA, Vanilla Porter, Oatmeal Stout
Guns and Oil — TBA
Lagunitas — IPA, Pilsner, Undercover Shutdown, Lil’ Sumpin’ Sumpin’
Latis (Belgium) — Rodenbach Grand Cru, Shoefferhofer, Radeberger

A while back we wrote up a full preview on Palate Fatigue, the special event being held this Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m. at Sister Bar downtown. The only thing we did not have back then was the final list of beers that would be poured. Well, now we have them, or at least 21 of the 22 planned, courtesy of event organizer Angelo Orona.

Without further adieu, in alphabetical order by brewery …

Alpine Hoppy Birthday (5.25% ABV) The happy, hoppy little session IPA from the San Diego brewery. You can also find it for sale at Jubilation and it has been on tap at times at Nob Hill Bar & Grill.

Ballast Point Habanero Sculpin (7% ABV, 70 IBU) and Big Eye Ginger IPA (7% ABV, 71 IBU) Two more big IPAs from San Diego, flavored for added measure.

Blue Corn Good Guys Triple IPA (10.2% ABV, 150 IBU) A lot of us missed this Alpha King Challenge entry when it was on tap up in Santa Fe. This is our chance to make up for it.

Bosque Acequia (7% ABV, 100 IBU) The GABF gold medal-winning wet-hop wonder. You know it, you love it.

Canteen Dutch Courage (stats NA) In case you missed it, the mad scientists at Canteen teamed up with the folks from Left Turn Distilling to create an IPA with gin. Boozy meets hoppy. You have been warned.

Evil Twin Yin Imperial Stout (stats NA) and Yang Imperial IPA (stats NA) The good news is Franz Solo did not wipe out the national supply of Yin during his visit to the East Coast earlier this year. The better news is that we now get to enjoy the Yin, plus the Yang, and word is if you mix them you get a hellacious beer.

Founders All Day IPA (4.7% ABV, 42 IBU) and Breakfast Stout (8.3% ABV, 60 IBU) You know them, you love them, you are quickly drinking up the supply all around town since Founders got here this month.

La Cumbre Project Dank (7.5% ABV, 86 IBU) It is the New Zealand hops version. Oh, my, that just sounds tropical and wonderful.

Marble Imperial Red (9% ABV, 100+ IBU) A bronze medal winner at GABF this year, gold medal last year, you know this wonderful beer’s story.

Ponderosa Walther IPK (6% ABV, 60 IBU) It’s an India Pale Kolsch, in case the acronym throws you off. The flavor is wholly unique.

San Tan MoonJuice IPA (7.3% ABV, 65 IBU) A big blast of Nelson plus Galaxy, this uber popular beer in Arizona arrives in ABQ for the first time. Preview it on draft before they start canning it later this year.

Santa Fe Double-Randalled Happy Camper (stats unknown) Anyone else curious as can be as to what will be in the Randall? Let us find out together.

Sierra Blanca Ben’s Experimental IPA (6.8% ABV, 85-90 IBU) Brewer Ben Couger created this beer especially for this event. Lord only knows what he threw in there, but odds are it will taste big.

Stone Enjoy By 10.31.15 IPA (9.4% ABV) and Oaked Ruination (8.5% ABV, 100+ IBU) Chances are you have enjoyed a Stone IPA or two over the years. The Enjoy By series is one of the best they do, while the Oaked Ruination offers up a whole different level of flavor over the regular DIPA.

Tired Hands Bittersweet Symphony (stats NA) Tired Hands is a small brewery based in Pennsylvania. This is their newest IPA creation. Let us all try it together, shall we?

Upslope IPA (7.2% ABV, 65 IBU) and Lychee IPA (6.7% ABV) The regular IPA is a classic example of the style, with a fair amount of hops and a good malt backbone. The Lychee is a special one-off that is quite rare (seriously, there is only one entry on Beer Advocate).

There should be one more special beer available Saturday. Pre-sale tickets cost $35, while those at the door will cost $40. Just take note, the last event sold out in advance.

See many of you Saturday.

Cheers!
