Our very own Stoutmeister wrote up a guest post for the Tractor Brewery blog, Livin La Vida Tractor, this week. Since our blog has grown was inspired name-wise by a Tractor beer (read the post to find out how) and has grown in readership while reporting on the Tractor growler issue, it seemed only natural for our fearless editor to write for Tractor.
Go give it a read!

In other news, Stoutmeister and E-Rock visited Hooligans bar in the Northeast Heights on Wednesday night to watch local bands Red Light Cameras and Shoulder Voices. Joining them was Tractor’s Lauren Poole, who recently starred in Blackout Theater Company’s production “F8” alongside Red Light Cameras’ lead singer Amanda Machon. Lauren was invited on stage to sing the acoustic version of her song “I Need a Home” by the band, so a great time was had by all. On the beer front, Hooligans had an impressive number of taps featuring local and out-of-state microbrews. In addition to Marble’s Red and IPA, both Isotopes beers (Slammin’ Amber and Triple-A Blonde) were on tap. Other breweries represented included Odell, Stone, Ska, Shock Top, New Belgium and Left Hand. There were two nitro beers on tap as well, Odell’s Cutthroat Porter and Left Hand’s Milk Stout (which E-Rock has dubbed “the Grail”). Coupled with Bad Ass Brewery in the same shopping center at Eubank and Montgomery, Hooligans actually gives us another reason to hang out in the Heights.
Also, three Crew members are heading out to Rio Rancho’s Turtle Mountain this evening for thirsty Thursday! For some of us it has been far too long (Franz Solo’s bachelor party last summer) since we visited the TMBC. Stoutmeister has been there more recently and enjoyed the Arsenal Porter, which is thankfully still on tap. E-Rock is looking forward to trying the Wild Bill Hiccup’z Oatmeal IPA. We are also hoping to land an interview with owner Nico Ortiz or a member of Turtle’s brewing staff to talk about all things beer. Look for that story in the days to come!
Cheers!
