One of the biggest annual events at Tractor Brewing’s Wells Park location, the Stranger Things Arcade Carnival, is back for the third straight year in advance of Halloween this Saturday from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. The brewery’s main parking lot on Fourth Street and the entire taproom will be taken over by this annual event, with tickets available online for $18.
The special vendor booths outside will include a unique art installation from Odd City, magic by Dave Grimm, the artists of Archetype Tattoo, and, yes, spankings from Self Serve Sexuality Resource Center. Inside, in addition to all the beers, ciders, and cocktails, Tractor will have 20-plus arcade and pinball games from Geekon, LLC and 505 Pinball. Leave your spare change at home, because all the games will be free to play.
Music starts at 7 p.m. when the gates open with 80’s beats from Fan Club (DJ Riff Rat), followed by Meryl Streep Jr. at 9, the “welcome home” show for Prism Bitch at 11 (featuring longtime Tractor beertender Lauren Poole and friends), and finally Russian Girlfriends at midnight.
The Blackout Theatre Company will take over the circus tent outside at 10 p.m. as Darlin & The Rodeo Runners present “Family Band for a Clown Funeral.” That sounds as delightfully off the wall as Blackout productions tend to get, so keep an eye on the clock.
Seasonal brews like Traktoberfest and Pumpkin Cider will be available, and there are rumors of a possible appearance by Turkey Drool, a Crew favorite, in the near future (we can only hope the near future is Saturday).
All of this kicks off shortly after the Beer Premier ends at Rio Bravo, just a couple blocks away, so since the parking lot is closed anyway, just have your Lyft/Uber account up to date and make a day and night of beer fun in the Wells Park neighborhood.
