Greetings, New Mexico craft beer lovers. Stoutmeister here with The Week Ahead in Beer. This column covers all the breweries in Bernalillo and Sandoval counties, with Santa Fe’s eight breweries, one in Los Alamos, one in Moriarty, one in Red River, one in Silver City, and one in Truth or Consequences also joining the party.

After we highlighted Broken Trail for its current charitable brew, Dogtoberfest, last week, we would be remiss not to lead with two more beers-for-good this week, one in Albuquerque and one in Santa Fe. Red Door Brewing and Rowley Farmhouse Ales are both tapping beers for charity this week, with the former also putting its offering in cans. First, RFA has Prostator, a doppelbock, brewed for the 2020 Pints for Prostates campaign. One dollar from each pint poured will go to the charity. Over at Red Door, as we noted in our most recent story about the brewery, Left Paw Lager is back for another year, this time in six-pack cans in addition to being on draft at all three taprooms. A portion of the proceeds from all sales will go to Animal Humane, and the special labels will feature recently adopted cats and dogs. It should be available either Friday or Saturday.

We also wanted to point out a notable change in the year-round lineup at one of our breweries. Scarlet Starlet will be the first in a new series of rotating fruited sours that will replace Cactus Wins the Lottery, the prickly pear sour that has been a part of the Ex Novo lineup since the brewery opened in Corrales last year. We will have a little more on this change and what it all means in a separate story later this week.

On the new beer front this week, there some other fresh options to check out. Boese Brothers has several recent additions to its lineup including Steam Lager, Ala Lager, Pumpkin Spice Ale, Watermelon Cider, and Blackberry Cider. Bosque has a new West Coast-style IPA on draft in Small Town Runway. Brew Lab 101 will tap Labtoberfest on Friday. Ex Novo also has a fresh batch of Foam on the Range on draft. Gravity Bound has a new sour, Sorry, Pumpkin. High and Dry brings back Constable Reggie, Kinda (Yellow), and Summer Shapes Session IPA. Kaktus recently added Bigger Ben ESB and Festbier. Marble rolled out Gohan Lager late last week. Nexus will tap its Fest Bier on Tuesday. Quarter Celtic is howling with Tropical Wolf Hazy IPA. Sidetrack has a small batch of El Dorado Pub Ale available on draft. Starr Brothers declares There Wolf (but not there castle) as its Oktoberfest-style beer returns Thursday. Thirsty Eye’s NM IPA Challenge entry, Rio Madre Hazy DIPA, is now on tap, and Good Gourd, a pumpkin/cranberry ale, arrives on Friday. Toltec recently tapped a Helles Lager, with a Cascade Wet Hop Ale coming Friday. Turquoise Trail added The Tears Have Dried Hazy IPA and Cedar Mountain IPA to its lineup last weekend.

Up in Santa Fe, Rowley Farmhouse Ales also added bottles of Mixed Dubbels Curling, and The Other One Hazy IPA is on draft after the can supply ran out at the brewery. Over in Los Alamos, Bathtub Row has Stouty McCoffeeface, Festbier, and Brando’s Bitter now available on draft.
