Greetings, New Mexico craft beer lovers. Stoutmeister here with The Week Ahead in Beer. This column covers all the breweries in Bernalillo and Sandoval counties, with Santa Fe’s eight breweries, one in Los Alamos, one in Moriarty, one in Red River, one in Silver City, and one in Truth or Consequences also joining the party.

Yet another sign that things are returning to normal is the return of pop-up markets either at breweries or involving breweries. Depending on which side of the Rio Grande you inhabit, this Saturday you can either attend the Summer Market at Brew Lab 101 or join ReSource Brewing at the Plant Powered Pop-up Market at The ABQ Collective at 1321 Eubank NE (just a mile or so south of the brewery). For the Summer Market, Brew Lab brought together 15 Rio Rancho/Westside merchants, plus food trucks, music from DJ Wae Fonky, and more from 1 to 5 p.m. Check their social media pages for a full list of vendors and any additional details. On the East Side, ReSource will provide the beer garden libations for the pop-up market, which includes a wide array of vendors, artisans, and vegan eateries. That one runs from 6 to 10 p.m., so if you’re feeling adventurous, you can potentially hit both markets in the same day (but we might suggest utilizing a designated driver).

There are quite a few new canned offerings coming this week to help you restock your beer fridges. Bosque has decided that it’s time that Mr. Melon Gose to Work on Friday. Bow & Arrow hits the mark with its new hoppy pilsner, Rad Vista, on Friday. Boxing Bear ascends to bring back Chin Hook Mountain IPA this Saturday. Marble finally cans one of our all-time favorites, Thunder from Dortmunder, beginning today (Wednesday).

On the new draft beer front this week, there some additional fresh options to check out for pints or crowler/growler fills. Casa Vieja brewed up Casa Baja Dark Lager. Differential has a fresh batch of its Rice Lager on tap. Ex Novo added Coorales Light Lager back on tap late last week. Marble also tapped Blackberry Wheat. Quarter Celtic brought back its lovely oaked kellerbier, Burque Biergarten. Rio Bravo rolled out Strawberry Hefeweizen. Sobremesa tapped the new Brewberry Wheat. Turtle Mountain brings back its juicy IPA, Gender Fluid.

Up in Santa Fe, Second Street tapped the new Redemption ESB and brought back Chin-Gose.

(WEEKEND UPDATES) A few additional beers popped up on tap, plus one more canned offering. For the draft, La Cumbre added both a delicious Helles Lager and the old-school #WCIPAisDead. Marble did the single-hop thing again to great results with Nugget Pale Ale. Sidetrack brings back MX Dark Lager. Tractor channeled its English heritage with some Extra Special Bitter. As for that new can, Second Street rolled out Sloppy Sloth El Dorado Hazy IPA in six-packs.
