Events: There will be a celebration on Saturday for the release of Thirsty Eye’s 100th batch of beer, Batch 100 (DIPA). Per brewer John Kofonow: “We’ve been denied our first and second anniversary celebrations (around May-ish) due to the pandemic, but our 100th batch of beer seems like a good reason to throw a little party. Not only are we releasing Batch 100 on Saturday, but we’re going to do happy hour pricing all day, plus we’ll have live music from Hello Darlin’ (7-9 p.m.) and Zia Bros pizza (4-8 p.m.) in the evening.” Sounds like a great reason to head over and enjoy the festivities.

At Marble Downtown on Sunday, they will be hosting their sixth annual Mutt Masquerade with registration between 11 a.m. to noon, to be followed by the parade and judging in various categories. $1 from each pint sold at this event will go to Watermelon Mountain Ranch.
Steel Bender will be at the Maize Maze Fall Festival on Saturday and Sunday, which is the primary fundraising event for the Rio Grande Community Farm. Lots of local vendors will be there as well as music, fall activities, food trucks, and the like. Tickets and more information can be found here.
Also on Saturday, Tractor Wells Park brings back their Stranger Things drag queen bingo and carnival from 6 to 11 p.m. Advance tickets are $8 and can be procured here https://holdmyticket.com/event/382426 or $10 day of. Stoutmeister will have a more detailed preview this Thursday.
(UPDATE) A late edition to the events list comes from Sobremesa, which will be holding a three-day Oktoberfest celebration this Friday through Sunday. Their Oktoberfest is on tap all weekend, the food special is a bratwurst with sauerkraut on a pretzel bun, Chris Dracup will provide live music Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m., and it all concludes Sunday afternoon with a Stein Hoisting Contest for $15 per person. You get to keep the engraved stein, get a 24-ounce pour of Oktoberfest or Hilltop Helles, and you have the chance to win a T-shirt and gift card.
As always, if we have missed any beers or live events, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
To break down each “capsule,” I listed the brewery (with Web page linked), its phone number and hours of operation. Instead of “Beers” being an all-encompassing list of seasonal/specialty offerings, we are now splitting everything into “Draft/Crowler/Growler Fills” for beers poured from the taps, and “Cans/Bottles” for pre-packaged beers. All beers listed are subject to change.
