There are quite a few canned releases to close out this month, which is just fine since our beer fridges haven’t been overflowing at all lately. (Insert sarcastic and/or maniacal laughter here.) The hop-forward beers are surprisingly the dominant style being released in package this week, but in New Mexico, it’s always hoppy season. There are also a few new draft releases, and some fun events this weekend, including a brewery anniversary party.
Boese Brothers gives into the darkness, but threw in some hops in it with the new Black IPA. Brew Lab 101 channeled its ’80s music vibe with Jane’s Addiction Pomegranate Cider. Canteen tapped one of its big hits from WinterBrew, El Gato Gordo Breakfast Stout. Casa Vieja added a fresh batch of Vanilla Stout. Flix Brewhouse is expected to tap Island Boy Tropical Stout on Thursday. Ponderosa brings back an annual favorite, Ooey Gooey Stout. Sidetrack will tap a new IPA and a new stout (names TBA) for its anniversary party this Saturday. Steel Bender brings back Sparkfitter Amber on nitro this Thursday. Thirsty Eye tapped a new batch of Bruiser Stout. Tractor will bring back an old favorite, Barnstorm Ale, this Friday. (UPDATES) Brew Lab 101 also tapped the new Honey Brown Ale. Ex Novo recently added a new West Coast IPA, The Nameless Oneder. High and Dry collaborated with Sobremesa on a new fruited wheat wine, Take a Lap. Kaktus just tapped a Dark Bock. La Cumbre has a fresh batch of Doppelbock. Palmer brought back Export Stout.
Up in Santa Fe, Beer Creek tapped Golondrinas Strong Belgian Golden Ale. Rowley Farmhouse Ales recently added Ab Initio – Palisade Peach. Second Street tapped Cascade to Black Stout, another WinterBrew favorite, and Skimboard Sour. Over in Los Alamos, Bathtub Row waves at some Irish Goodbye Stout.
Bow & Arrow will drop another double-can release on Friday with We Ride at Dawn Hazy IPA and the return of Bummin’ Around the Badlands Bohemian Pilsner. Ex Novo will have Mountains and Mountains Stout available in cans and on draft this Friday. Gravity Bound rolls out Let’s Get Western DIPA and Intangible Assets Hazy IPA. Marble brings back Safeword IPA this Friday.

Friday — Gin & Jazz returns to Tractor Wells Park at 5 p.m., featuring the Burque Jazz Bandits, followed by Eddie Brewer and the Manic Episodes at 8 p.m.
Saturday — Sidetrack celebrates its sixth anniversary all day, featuring two new beers on tap, maybe a special cask, and Tikka Spice will provide the food.
Over at JUNO, the GrimeApple Flow Fest runs from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m., featuring multiple local musicians. The cover is $10.
