It was a relatively quiet year for New Mexico breweries at the annual Best of Craft Beer Awards in Bend, Oregon, but that just means that Rio Bravo Brewing gets to bask in the spotlight all by itself.

Rio Bravo snagged a silver medal for its Dice Roll IPA in the Hazy or Juicy Imperial IPA category. The gold went to Triptych Brewing of Savoy, Illinois, for its Branches on Branches, while San Francisco’s Local Brewing took bronze for its MoBro. A full list of 165 winners in all categories can be found here.

Dice Roll previously won the take-home edition of the 2020 New Mexico IPA Challenge.

The Best of Craft Beer Awards were not held in 2021 due to the pandemic. At the 2020 competition, five New Mexico breweries — Ex Novo, Flix Brewhouse, Lauter Haus, Quarter Celtic, Three Rivers — brought home 12 medals, including three golds.

A full list of participating New Mexico breweries for the 2022 competition was not available.

Regardless, congratulations to Rio Bravo on carrying the banner this year.

Keep supporting local!
