Back when the new owners took over Marble Brewery, they launched a campaign called Keep it ABQ, the goal of which was to show their unwavering commitment to supporting everything local from musicians to artists to nonprofits and charities. It also meant a lot of the annual fundraisers that were always held at 111 Marble Ave NW would continue, and that includes Love Beer Hate Cancer, which returns this Saturday from noon to 8 p.m. This event was designed as a fundraiser for Camp Enchantment, a summer camp for children who either have or had cancer that’s held in the Manzano Mountains every year. How do you contribute? Easy, enjoy any drink on the menu, and $1 goes to Camp Enchantment. There’s also usually a place where you can donate directly, and of course Marble will have plenty of entertainment on hand. Vibestrong, Danny Cravens, and Crazy Bird will all be performing on the outdoor stage. Get on down to 111 this Saturday and donate the best way you know how, by enjoying some quality craft beer!

New Draft:

Bombs Away tapped Keep It Simple Stout and a fresh batch of SMASH Pilsner. Canteen will bring back Pecos Trail, an English brown ale, and introduce Friends Like These, a juicy pale, this Friday. Quarter Celtic tapped Karma is a Cream Ale. Thirsty Eye added Vajellos, a SMASH IPA. (UPDATES) Flock of Moons released Flocktoberfest. High and Dry tapped Unbalanced Breakfast, a session oatmeal stout that checks in at 4.8-percent ABV but packs plenty of flavor with a good mouthfeel you would expect from a stout. Painted Lady brought back You’ve Got Red on You, a proper hoppy red ale.

Down south, Open Space tapped Hidalgo, a hefweizen. (UPDATE) Up north, Beer Creek added Barley Legal, a coffee stout brewed in collaboration with Iconik.

As we hit publish, no one has announced a can release for the week, but we suspect there might be one (stares intently at Boxing Bear).

Today (Wednesday) — Poetry & Beer returns to Tractor Wells Park at 7 p.m.

Thursday — Painted Lady hosts Brews & Books and Pints for Pink, benefiting Pink Warrior House, at 6 p.m.

Friday — Artwalk is back, so make sure to check out what’s new on the walls and groove to Adobe Disco on the patio at Sidetrack from 6 to 11 p.m.

Author Cody Polston hosts Ghosts of Old Town Albuquerque at Painted Lady at 7 p.m.

The First Fridays Comedy Contest returns to Tractor Wells Park at 8 p.m.

Saturday — The aforementioned Love Beer Hate Cancer will be at Marble from noon to 8 p.m.

The August Market will be held at Ponderosa from noon to 5 p.m.

The Desert Darlings return to Tractor Wells Park with an expanded version of Belly Nouveau, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. This is now a ticketed event, so head over to the Darlings’ website to purchase yours in advance.

Jordan Jonas is back at Painted Lady for A Night of Haunting Magick starting at 8 p.m.

Sunday — If you missed Jordan Jonas the night before, head to Painted Lady for Supernatural Sundays at 5 p.m.

Santa Fe Brewing is selling some Zozobra pint glasses at all of their taprooms to go with the Zozobra 102 Mexican Dark Lager that’s currently on tap and in cans. They’re just $10 apiece, but the supply is limited.

Good news, the Calavida Cantina kitchen is open again, serving up a whole new menu of delights. Check out their social media or click on the link below under Featured Beers.

Ponderosa now has 32-ounce crowlers, so you can take your favorite beers home without having to dig up and wash out that old glass growler anymore.

Sunday Service Motor Company once again extended their temporary closure for renovations through this Sunday. Normal service will resume next week, we (and they) hope.
