Yeah, we know, it’s been slow on the news front again. Throw in my constantly changing schedule at the paying job, and we’ve neglected this site a bit. We’ll try to pick things up a bit soon. In the meantime, one beer we’ve been waiting for a while now is finally arriving on tap, and not just at one brewery. One of the coolest collaborations we’ve seen in a while drops this week at Dripline, Flock of Moons, Painted Lady, Ponderosa, Sidetrack, and Thirsty Eye. They collectively brewed a fresh-hop IPA and if it tastes as good as its name, it’s gonna go awfully quick. The name? Wet Hop Burqueño Summer. Yeah, that just might be the beer name of the year. Go get some at any or all of the participating breweries (not on the same day, please) and raise a glass to a final farewell to summer and to the spirit of collaboration that still runs strong at our favorite places!
New Draft:
Flock of Moons tapped Wytchwater, a hefty Belgian tripel. Gravity Bound added Pretty Bird, a pineapple/mango/coconut cream/vanilla bean sour. La Cumbre will tap a new Coffee Brown Ale this Sunday, brewed in collaboration with Cutbow Coffee. Marble tapped Cascade Pale Ale, Cherry Chingon, and Yumba Pilsner. Painted Lady will officially release Wake the Dead Marzen, their collaboration with Dripline, at Friday’s Scary Movie Bingo (see below). Steel Bender will get in the autumn mood with Cutbow Coffee Porter on nitro starting this coming Tuesday. Thirsty Eye tapped their Oktoberfest lager.
Up in Santa Fe, Tumbleroot tapped Kettle Sour Red. Down south in Santa Clara, Open Space added 11th Essential, a blonde ale, and Garden Day: Prickly Pear, a saison.
New Package:
La Cumbre will release Dynamic Glow, a hazy IPA, in cans and on draft this Friday, plus last weekend they managed to sneak in a collaboration West Coast IPA made with Colorado’s Cannonball Creek Brewing called Spectator Sport, also available in cans and on draft. Steel Bender brings back Blackberry Dynamite in cans and on draft this Friday.
