Great googily moogily, this week is way more packed than we could have imagined, and it’s not just due to the Oktoberfes-a-palooza that’s breaking out this weekend. We’ll have all of those events listed below, and you can always check our statewide guide to all the Oktoberfest celebrations. We’re still updating that one as more and more are announced. Anyway, the fun kicks off with a stein-holding contest at Bow & Arrow tonight (Wednesday), then Dripline is throwing their Oktoberfest party with the Beer Choir on Thursday, and La Cumbre has a two-day celebration Friday and Saturday. Oh, and there’s also the Rio Rancho Oktoberfest on Saturday. And, Nuckolls Brewing is hosting the Lamy Beer Fest outside of Santa Fe on Saturday. Plus, special fundraisers are going down at Painted Lady on Thursday and Sunday, and another at Ex Novo Corrales on Saturday. Heck, there’s even a metal show at Desert Dogs in Santa Fe on Tuesday. Throw in a few cool beer releases and let the celebratory times begin!

New Draft:

Canteen will bring back Grapefruit Exodus IPA on Friday. Dripline and Painted Lady will release their collaboration Oktoberfest lager on Thursday. Flock of Moons brought back Ithilien, their delicious helles lager. La Cumbre did a full draft-only reset with Azul Oscura (Dark Mexican Lager), Saison, Nelson Mosaic IPA, Jet Pilot Pale Ale, and Stamag Vienna Lager all available. Marble brought back Dupy’s Dunkel, while adding Oktober All Over (Amber Lager) and Tiki IPA. Marble and Turtle Mountain also released their collaboration, Haze Both Ways, now available at all of their locations. Painted Lady will soon re-release Please Don’t Kill Me Mr. Ghostface, their blonde ale that’s a tribute to, naturally, Scream. Quarter Celtic got into the season with Pumpkin Spice Mead. Sidetrack brought back Pub Ale. Turtle Mountain also tapped an old-school favorite, Arsenal Porter.

Down south, Truth or Consequences Brewing will release Equinoxe, a biere de garde, this Thursday.

New Package:

Boxing Bear will soon bring back Black Mesa Dunkel in cans and on draft. La Cumbre will release Wiesn Festbier in cans and on draft Friday, plus there will be special fasser tappings that day and Saturday.

Notable Events:

Today (Wednesday) — Bow & Arrow hosts a Stein-Holding Competition at 6 p.m. It’s $40 per person, but you get to drink the full pour (don’t spill it) and the commemorative stein, and the winner gets a $100 gift card.

Ex Novo brings back Brick & Brews Lego Build Social Night at the Corrales taproom from 7 to 9 p.m.

Thursday — Painted Lady hosts both the latest Brews & Books and Pints with Purpose benefiting Barrett House at 6 p.m.

The aforementioned Oktoberfest & Beer Choir celebration will be at Dripline at 6:30 p.m.

Friday — The first day of Oktoberfest at La Cumbre will feature fasser tappings at the brewery at 3 p.m. and at the taproom at 5 p.m. The brewery will also have German-style food from Newmexique and there will be pretzels served up at the taproom.

Painted Lady has a doubleheader of spooky events with the book launch of What We Owe the Dark with author Cody Poslton at 6 p.m., followed by Fright Night Open Mic at 7 p.m.

Saturday — The Rio Rancho Oktoberfest will run from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Sandoval County Administrative Park, 1500 Idalia Rd., with Brew Lab 101 and Turtle Mountain pouring in the beer garden.

The Lamy Beer Fest will run from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., featuring beers from host Nuckolls, plus Beer Creek, Boxing Bear, Second Street, and Sierra Blanca.

Drag Bingo is back at Canteen from 1 to 3 p.m.

Day two of Oktoberfest at La Cumbre will start at 2 p.m. and be at the brewery only, featuring lots of food specials, live music, and additional fasser tappings.

Ex Novo Downtown will be one of the sites hosting the live filming of Bands of Enchantment, from 4 to 10 p.m.

Camp Enchantment will hold their 40th Anniversary Fundraiser at Ex Novo Corrales from 5 to 9 p.m.

Drag Queen Bingo: Halloween Edition will be at Tractor Wells Park at 7 p.m.

Sunday — Painted Lady hosts the WomenShine Expo from noon to 5 p.m.

Tuesday — Desert Dogs welcomes another metal show to the stage with Norwegian heavy hitters Kal-El, supported by Black Moon Cult and Violet Rising, starting at 8 p.m. Advance tickets are $20, or $25 at the door.

Beer Creek and Painted Lady will both be closed for (unrelated) private events this Saturday.

Starr Brothers will be open every Monday evening during NFL season to show Monday Night Football.

High and Dry has new hours for the fall — Monday through Thursday 2 to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Sunday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Putts N Pints is now open and has set their hours — Monday through Thursday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to midnight, Sunday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Bombs Away Beer Company — Featured seasonal: Oktoberfest (5.9% ABV, 20 IBU), the traditional märzen that you have been waiting for this fall.

Bow & Arrow Brewing — Featured seasonal: I Like Big Buttes (8% ABV) not only has arguably the best beer name of the year so far, it’s also an outstanding classic DIPA available in cans and on draft.

Boxing Bear Brewing Company — Featured seasonal: Old Grizzled Bear (5% ABV), an English-style pale ale, made for fans of the old school hop-forward brews.

Nuckolls Brewing — Featured seasonal: Coal Car (5.5% ABV), an oatmeal stout that’s just one of 11 house beers now available.

Rowley Farmhouse Ales — Featured seasonal: Second-String Loser (9.6% ABV, 26 IBU), a Belgian golden strong ale.

Santa Fe Brewing Company — Featured seasonal: Oktoberfest (6% ABV), the classic German-style lager is back in cans and on draft.
