Adam from the Bullpen had a great interview last week with Nob Hill Bar & Grill bar manager/craft beer aficionado Thomas DeCaro about all the upcoming fun he has planned. Well, one of those plans has come to light rather quickly.

Upslope Brewing Co. of Boulder, Colo., will debut their beers on tap at NHBG tonight (Thursday) starting at 5 p.m. The brewery’s four core beers — IPA, Pale Ale, Brown Ale, Craft Lager — will all be available on tap, plus their spring seasonal, Belgian Pale Ale.

The regular Pale (5.8% ABV, 36 IBU) was the first beer Upslope ever brewed and remains a popular fixture at many Colorado bars and restaurants. The IPA (7.2% ABV, 65 IBU) is described as being more balanced than most of its ilk, with a strong malt backbone to go with its bitter hops. The Brown (6.7% ABV, 45 IBU) is heftier than most browns and leans more to the English style than the American. The Craft Lager (4.8% ABV, 15 IBU) is the beer you should start with for any tasting. The Belgian (7.5% ABV, 30 IBU) uses a healthy dose of Trappist yeast and coriander.

Next week NHBG will get two more Upslope seasonals, the new Lemon Drop Hop Kolsch and the Imperial IPA (10% ABV, 90 IBU). We will have to see how their big IPA compares to the local heavyweights here in ABQ.

Coming up later this month (we hope), Ballast Point will make their debut at NHBG. The Crew will be doing a special tie-in with that major arrival, so keep an eye out.

Until then, see some of you at Nob Hill Bar & Grill tonight.
