Santa Fe Brewing Company’s Oktoberfiesta was this last weekend, and as always, it was one big, crazy, fundraiser event! This is my third year in attendance, but it was my first year as event coordinator for Santa Fe Brewing. This was my baby, and along with the help and hard work of so many, this was the best Oktoberfiesta yet! A great deal went right, only a couple things went wrong, but everyone enjoyed themselves. It was a huge success for the charities, weather cooperated for the most part, there was a birthday or two (or so I heard), and no one died!
Without further ado, here are some choice pictures of the event!
Our annual MC, NM Beer Ambassador Chris Goblet, got things kicked off properly!
What would Oktoberfiesta be without mariachis? Aye Aye!
Remember the story we did on Tom’s Green Chile Beer? Well, SFBC was proudly serving the beer in the taproom for Oktoberfiesta.
It was t-shirt weather in the middle of Fall. Whew!
Food Truck Row! In attendence this year was Dr. Field Goods, Taqueria Gracias Madre, Santa Fe Barbecue, Egg Woah Yeah, and Joe S. Sausage.
People arrived in droves.
There was plenty of beer on hand; We had Witch’s Lit from La Cumbre, Riverwalker IPA from Bosque, Pumpkin Porter from Blue Corn, and Oktoberfest from Bathtub Row!
The event trailer is always a big hit!
There’s a story behind this mask. Actually it’s a Storey. Storey Byars was pouring!
This couple won a contest at the Brass Tap Mesa with a hotel, dinner, and tickets to Oktoberfiesta! And that’s our man Soto giving them the SFBC experience! Prost!
The games were back again this year, and things heated up for the 6-pack holding contest!
Prost! I brought my stein!
The Strange! Or St. Range! Either way, they still rock hard!
Up next: Same Sex Mary from Nevada
SSM came on at Sunset and we almost needed a change of tents. They blew the roof off the motha sucka!
DJ Phat Tony killed it upstairs in the game room. I still can’t believe I booked a DJ for this event, but man! What a great idea! He can come back anytime!
To whoever left your skivvies at Oktoberfiesta: A) We’re burning them. B) Congratulations, you had the most fun at Oktoberfiesta 2015!
Day 2 – hard work is no cure for a hangover. Setting up for the next day was rough.
As noon rolled around, we had to sample the food trucks. Egg Woah Yeah is great, especially this Southwest chicken egg roll called El Pollo!
Santa Fe Barbecue was smoking that day! Literally. This pulled pork sandwich paired perfectly with Blue Corn’s Pumpkin Porter.
Cheers friends!
This is what Sunday Funday looks like!
Bartender Shannon definitely looked the part!
Jessie Deluxe, this very talented and edgy musician answered a facebook message and made it over to the brewery in a hurry to play a set when Eryn Bent couldn’t make it. She, and her electric cigarbox guitar were awesome!
Thank you Jessie Deluxe for answering the batsignal! Come back anytime!
Alex Maryol was on at 5. Cheers!
The crowd came out for this duo!
Owner Brian Lock snapping a photo of his kids dancing to Alex Maryol.
There was a nice-sized crowd for a Sunday! We had no idea!
As the band played, the rain began to pour, turning the dancefloor into one large puddle. That stopped no one!
We were all kids again!
Kids were kids!
So much fun, and SFBC does it to give back to the community! On the right is Rachel, the spokesperson for the Prompt Institute. One of the 3 charities SFBC was supporting.
And as always, one of the brewery staff goes home with a puppy from the Santa Fe Animal Shelter and Humane Society. Bartender Shannon’s daughter brought home a pup named Jill. And I want my hat back! 8 puppies were adopted the first day alone. Photo courtesy of the SF Animal Shelter & Humane Society
Special thanks to Melanie Munsell of Hutton Broadcasting for all her help and support in the coordination of this event!
See you next year, Oktoberfiesta! If they keep me, it will be bigger and better!
If you were able to make it out this year, I really hope you enjoyed yourselves! It was very tiring and stressful for me, but it was amazing to be surrounded by so many people enjoying themselves. This is why breweries love doing events. Feel free to comment below or send us your own pictures of the craziness that was your Oktoberfiesta! Or don’t! What happens at Oktoberfiesta stays at Oktoberfiesta, unless you leave your skivvies on the stage. That gets posted.
