Some astute eyes on social media may have spotted a teaser from Favorite Brands NM last week that Prairie Artisan Ales is coming here. Well, despite the lack of a formal press release, we can confirm that the popular Oklahoma-based brewery will be debuting today (Tuesday) with five of their beers on tap at Nob Hill Bar & Grill.
We know that the infamous Bomb! (Imperial Stout) will be one of those beers, while the rest are ones we have never tried before. The others are Funky Gold Mosaic, a dry-hopped sour, Prairie Ace, a dry-hopped farmhouse ale, Prairie Weisse, a sour wheat, and Standard, a hoppy farmhouse. Basically, a lot of funk. And an imperial stout that checks in at 13-percent ABV and was aged on coffee, cacao nibs, vanilla beans, and chili peppers. (Their spelling, not ours on chili.)
Jubilation will have a special tasting Wednesday from 4 to 6 p.m. We await the beer list from them, but it should be fairly similar. UPDATE: Here is the whole list, much of which was expected — Standard, Funky Gold, Bomb!, Weisse, Sorachi Ace, and Phantasmagoria (a DIPA) will be available for tasting and/or purchase. There will also be a limited supply of the following beers for purchase only, no sampling — Birthday Bomb! (they added caramel sauce), Prairie Ale (Belgian saison), Prairie Vous Francais (farmhouse), and TRVE Edition (a collaboration sour with a certain Denver heavy metal brewery). WOW. Props to Jubilation!
Santa Fe’s Fire & Hops will also have a tasting Wednesday at 5 p.m. In addition to Bomb!, they will have Standard, Funky Gold, Berliner Weisse, and Sorachi Ace Saison.
There were rumors of tappings at Anodyne and/or Sister later in the week, but nothing concrete is out there. We still wanted to make sure you all knew about the other tappings and tasting event. If you have never had Prairie before, this is definitely a great chance to check them out. They are a bit different than your normal brewery, so if you have been craving something unique and different, this is your chance.

Just remember, standing between Brew Crew members and Bomb! is not a good idea. We rather like that one.
Yeah, yeah, shocking. We know.
Cheers!
