Welcome to an early edition of Week Ahead, as we want to make sure everyone is aware of what beers are available well in advance of Thanksgiving, when most breweries will be closed (see below for the exceptions). Despite being a holiday week, there are plenty of beer releases coming Friday, with some fun events built around some of those releases. We are definitely heading into the darkness of winter, which means the beers are getting darker, too. Yeah, it really is our favorite time of year!

New Draft: 

Bombs Away recently tapped their Anniversary IPA, and S.A.F. P.O.G. Juice, a fruited sour, is back as well. Casa Vieja brought back The Duke’s Red Ale. Differential tapped a Porter and Guava Wheat. High and Dry turned over a number of taps, with Desert Trash (Black IPA) among the new offerings. Marble and Ponderosa have released a collaboration, Buurman Belgian IPA. ReSource’s latest Rarity Small-Batch offering, Thankful AF Ginger Brown, is now available. Rio Bravo added 95 Schillings (Scotch Ale) and Slow Pour Pils. Starr Brothers tapped a new amber ale, Tamalewood Nights. Thirsty Eye has more Good Gourd, plus To the Nines IPA and Huning Highlander Scotch Ale are now tapped.

Up in Los Alamos, Bathtub Row tapped Barnacle Babes Belgian Dubbel. Down south, Truth or Consquences Brewing will have Honey Winter Ale and a Whiskey-Barrel-Aged Stout on tap this Friday.

Also, take note that multiple breweries have now tapped Copper Canyon Pale Ale, the charity beer from La Reforma.

Bow & Arrow will release Mâs y Mâs Imperial Stout and Galactic Road Trip West Coast IPA on Friday. Boxing Bear rolls out VantaBlack Russian Imperial Stout and Drink the Rich Imperial Pastry Stout on Friday. Steel Bender brings back Mango Dynamite on Wednesday. (UPDATE) Rio Bravo unveils Putin Royale, a Russian imperial stout aged in cognac barrels, on Wednesday.

Up in Santa Fe, Hidden Mountain will have 100 bottles of its Without a Trace Imperial Stout available Friday. Down south, Truth or Consequences Brewing will feature Whiskey-Barrel-Aged Honey Winter Ale at both taprooms on Friday.

Boxing Bear will host VantaBlack Friday at the brewery, featuring the release of both imperial stouts, discounts on merchandise, live music, and more.

Up in Santa Fe, Rowley Farmhouse Ales will host its annual Blackest Friday, with multiple specialty stouts on tap from breweries around the country.

Adult Coloring Night benefiting Agora Crisis Center with special tapping of SereniTEA Now!, is today (Tuesday) at High and Dry Brewing, with the next night a week from today at Steel Bender.

Special Holiday Hours:

Almost every brewery is closed this Thursday for Thanksgiving, and Kaktus will also be closed Wednesday, but there are exceptions:

• Bow & Arrow will be open Thursday from 1 to 5 p.m.
• Lizard Tail Heights and Industrial will be open from noon to 6 p.m., but there will be no food service at the latter.
• Red Door Downtown will have $3 off growlers and $1.50 off crowlers on Wednesday only.
• Sidetrack will have extended hours, 1 p.m. to midnight, on both Wednesday and Friday.
• Red River Brewing will host a Thanksgiving dinner starting at 3 p.m.
• Truth or Consequences Brewing will host a Thanksgiving dinner starting at 2 p.m., and the Las Cruces Taproom will be open from noon to 5 p.m.
