Muster all your strength and prepare for one of the wildest weekends we have seen since 2019. The big event of the weekend is LagerHosen, and I’m headed to interview the Ex Novo staff today, so we will have a full preview of that epic festival. If you were not one of the lucky few to get an advance ticket, fear not, there is plenty else to do. It all kicks off Thursday with the second New Mexico Pint Day, as Second Street’s award-winning, all-around bad-ass director of art and branding Mariah Cameron Scee has designed a new glass that will be available at 29 breweries across the state. There are more glasses this time around, but considering how fast the now-infamous dinosaur glass sold out, do not wait too long to hit up your favorite pub and grab one for your collection. Beyond that, there are plenty of fundraisers cropping up to help the fire victims in Northern New Mexico, a few other events big and small, and of course plenty of new brews. Good luck fitting it all in this weekend!
New Draft:
Bombs Away rolls out H-Bomb Hefeweizen and Duke’s Scottish Ale, the latter a collaboration with The Dukes of Ale homebrew club. Downshift’s charitable beer, Gratitude Session IPA, is now on tap at Outpost 1706 in Old Town, along with more Snowday Hazy IPA. Ex Novo is tapping more Easy Come, Easy Go (Bohemian Pilsner) and While We’re on the Tropic (Hazy IPA). Gravity Bound tapped Roundabout (Hazy IPA) and an as-yet-unnamed Kolsch. High and Dry brought back Daydream Disaster (Red Ale) and Black Hole’s Son (Stout). JUNO tapped a new Vienna Lager and Pilsner. Marble added a new Hazy DIPA over the weekend. Ponderosa keeps the lagers rolling with a new Maibock. ReSource will tap You Startled Me! (Lavender Vanilla Blonde) on Thursday. Steel Bender brings back Salty Dog Grapefruit Gose on Thursday. Toltec recently brought back one of its original beers, The Goddess Warrior. (UPDATES) Bosque added a new hazy IPA, The Driving Rain. Boxing Bear tapped Heavy Bag Hazy IPA. Ex Novo brought back Heart of Rubbo (Schwarzbier). Marble has more Pilsner Burquell for everyone to enjoy.
Up in Santa Fe, Santa Fe Brewing tapped two new draft-only seasonals, Colden Boi (Cold IPA) and Te Gusta Bailar? (DIPA). Down south, Truth or Consequences Brewing will add Bravo Pils to its lineup on Thursday. (UPDATE) Second Street tapped Vienna Country Lager, which will also be available at the LagerHosen Festival this Saturday.
New Package:
Bow & Arrow’s Country & Western, a new hazy IPA made with sweet orange peel, will be available in cans and on draft today (Wednesday). Boxing Bear recently canned Body Czech Pilsner for the first time out of the Firestone brewery. Ex Novo brings back Krispy’s Kolsch in cans and on draft this Friday. Gravity Bound is canning Blue Layer (Blueberry Coffee Cake Sour) on Thursday. La Cumbre brings back Strawberry Gose in cans and on draft this Friday. (UPDATE) Boxing Bear cans P.U.B.
