Some weeks, it can be hard to pick out a single theme or one particular event to feature here at the start of this column. Other weeks, it pretty much drops right on your head. This week will feature not one but three anniversary parties as a trio of breweries go into full celebratory mode. First up, as we included in our feature Tuesday, will be Thirsty Eye’s seventh anniversary party on Friday from 5 to 10 p.m. Then on Saturday, Bow & Arrow will celebrate a milestone 10th anniversary, while Brew Lab 101 also raises a glass to their seventh anniversary out in Rio Rancho. The Bow & Arrow celebration will include an expanded beer and outdoor music — The Stray Dogs from 3 to 5 p.m., DJ Christina Swilley from 5 to 8, Black Creek from 8 to 10 — plus food trucks and pop-ups, special merchandise, a Pour & Explore Lecture Series special with Dr. Glenn Fox (all about the malt) at 1 p.m., and five new beer releases (see below). Brew Lab 101 will kick off their party at 2 p.m. with live music from the Ross Brothers and Coyote Calls. They will also have drink specials, Jell-O shots, raffles, prizes, and more. Happy anniversary to one and all this weekend!

New Draft:

Bombs Away recently tapped the latest edition of their Hazy Chain DIPA, No. 25 to be specific. Bow & Arrow will have special releases of two draft-only, barrel-aged beers on Saturday with Cosmic Coyote 1 (Imperial Gose aged in Jamaican rum barrels) and Cosmic Coyote 2 (Fruited Imperial Gose conditioned on plum, sweet cherry, and apricot). Calavida Cantina will tap Star Crusher Hazy IPA on Friday. Canteen will release The Color of Rain, a new DIPA, on Friday. Ex Novo tapped Weizen Shine, Olde & Expensive (barrel-aged blend of old and stock ales), Oh, Noir! (BA wild ale), and Austral Pale Ale. Flock of Moons brought back Somniorum (hefeweizen) and added Neumond, a schwarzbier. Painted Lady went out and harvested some wild mulberries and put them in their golden ale, I Will Go Insane and I Will Take You With Me, and that Wild Bosque Mulberry Bewitched Edition will be on tap very soon. Steel Bender will tap Big E IPA on Friday.

New Package:

Bow & Arrow will release Ten Years in Concho Country (our mistake that we thought it was last week), a hazy IPA, in cans and on draft this Friday, followed by the draft-and-can releases of Bolos & Bling (fruited Belgian wheat) and I Like Big Buttes (DIPA) on Saturday. Ex Novo brought back Yabba Dabba Don’t, a fruited hazy IPA, and added Pale Tree in a Dust Storm, another hazy IPA, in cans and on draft. Santa Fe Brewing will release Zozobra 102, a Mexican dark lager, in cans and on draft this Friday.

Today (Wednesday) — Comedy and Magic returns to Tractor Wells Park at 7 p.m.

Thursday — The Crypt Keeper’s Comedy Hour is back at Painted Lady at 7 p.m.

Friday — That aforementioned Zozobra 102 will get a full release party at Santa Fe Brewing HQ from 2 to 9 p.m.

Thirsty Eye’s anniversary party runs from 5 to 10 p.m.

Painted Lady hosts Horror House Trivia at 7 p.m., followed by the Albucreepy Haunted Trolley Tour at 8 p.m.

Canteen brings back their 80’s and 90’s Dance Party from 7 to 9 p.m.

Goth Night & Dark Market returns to Tractor Wells Park at 8 p.m.

Saturday — Canteen hosts another Tie Dye Party from noon to 4 p.m.

Marble will begin hosting a new Day Market downtown every Saturday from noon to 4 p.m., followed by the Night Market at Marble Westside from 5 to 9 p.m.

Bow & Arrow’s anniversary party runs from noon to 11 p.m.

A pack of local spooky authors will descend upon Painted Lady to host Wicked Whispers: Summer Slashers at 7 p.m.

Sunday — Supernatural Sundays with magician Jordan Jonas returns to Painted Lady at 6 p.m.

Starr Brothers will be open every Monday throughout the World Cup.

Ponderosa now has 32-ounce crowlers, so you can take your favorite beers home without having to dig up and wash out that old glass growler anymore.

Sunday Service Motor Company once again extended their temporary closure for renovations through this Sunday. Normal service will resume next week, we (and they) hope.
